I heard from the Lottery security head today. He has not heard from the police. I did give him some contact info that might help.

SC officials getting nervous that $1.5 billion Mega Millions winner won't claim prize
paymentplan-man, I understand the verification process here in California. I do not want the winner/s, financial adviser to try to verify the ticket over the phone. I think that the financial adviser can call the Lottery Office and follow the procedures to identify the ticket as the winner. It will not be verified. The Lottery Office will decide if the call is a hoax or not. The Lottery Office will also decide if they will alert the public. I have no idea what the Lottery Office's procedures are

Yes usually the security head e-mails back, but he hasn't. Perhaps he has something he doesn't want to give out yet. Same with the police.

I am not hearing back from the head of lottery security or the police. So frustrated. I want my $500 so badly. I hope that thief knows he took $500 from someone who had a sick dad who was dying and was hurting for money.

You would think it would be different when the actual ticket wasn't used. Lottery really needs to better their security. I hope when I can contact the police they work with the Lottery.

Well I have been e-mailing the head of Lottery security, and they are not budging. I have to go through the police. I will try when I have time but it is such a hassle. I am very disappointed with the Lottery.

NY Gov Cuomo vetoes bill that would have allowed lottery jackpot winners to remain anonymous
How about attacking the problem from the other side and pass a bill that lottery winners of over x million dollars get New York State Police Security Teams assigned to them and their families. With the taxes the winners pay on the jackpots New York could afford to do that.

South Carolina's billion dollar mega millions ticket
I guess that each State is different. Here in California, I am wondering when you will be ushered into the Lottery Winner's Room. Will it be after you present your ticket to the receptionist. The receptionist may want to take your Claim Form, ticket, ID card, and social security card. Asking if you have made personal copies of all the important documents. Then you could be asked into the Lottery Winner's Room. After getting your ID card and social security card back. The
