110 $100,00 WINNERS !!??
I'll point this out one more time. Here in Western Missouri the lottery commissionhas been running radio ads with the message that a $10 mil jackpot is huge and those players who wait for the prize to hit $50 mil are making a big mistake. So what happens? First, a lot of winners of low jackpots, which is pretty much of a rarity. Next, we have an unbelieveable number of $100 thou winners in Wednesday's drawing. This would seem to be an effort to convince players that there are a lot of big p

"Scratching a state's itch" fun editorial

The odds are seriously ridiculous, and I won't be alive if/when my numbers come up in 1,000 years lol.People really got lost somewhere and forgot how hard the odds are at their own state lottery or even pick 5 games (although they are the best to play out of all).i kinda hope NY pulls out, but i kinda

N.D. lottery's first year deemed 'exceptional'
that doesn't matter. a lottery should not be started up just to get sales off of jackpots created by other states. ND needs games outside of the MUSL, and that includes scratch-offs. even IA has a game of their own. ND will understand sooner or later that the players will get tired of the same games, and that they need something along the lines of a pick 3, pick 4, and pick 5 games. perhaps they should go in with SD on Dakota Cash. heck, i've been wanting the two dakotas to combing and become on

Powerball changing, will you still play?
I don't think Powerball will ever get rid of the Match 5 Bonus pool. I've e-mailed them about the possible matrix change and also asked why they had the Match 5 Bonus pool, and this is what they said:The articles I read said decreasing the chances of winning. Meaning, making theodds higher. At any rate the article was a little simplistic. We need to look designing agame that the players want to play. That is what we will try to design. There are good reasons for a rule that will slow the gro

Powerball Matrix Change?
lotteries are actually making an attempt to listen to players (or so they say). it looks like PA did well with match 6 (it's a fun game, even though i have yet to win at it.), but the players did not like lucky for life lotto (i think they expected it to be more like WA's or OR's, which would probably generate more sales.). it seems as if the players are asking the lotteries to consider matrix changes to powerball and mega millions. both the lotteries and the players want bigger jackpots, and th

MA Cashwinfall MI Winfall
I dont play cash winfal because of the 2 dollar coast. However the numbers game give much better payout, jackpots are only 5K but they are not imposible to win. My strategy is to asign a -1 value to numbers from 0 to 2 and +1 to munbers from 7 to 9 and add up the four columns for the last say 10 or 15 draws. if the sum is a big large negative number it means that sooner rather then latter u will have a 7 or 8 or 9 in that spot. The opposite is also true. I havent won yet but im sure it works

Pigskin Challenge 03-16-05
The lottery commission here in Western Missouri is still running radio ads in which one guy runs into a friend who just won a $10 mil jackpot in PB and instead of congratulating him he says critically, 'everyone knows you never buy a ticket until the jackpotr reaches $50 million . Then the announcer cuts in and says, $10 mil is still a lot of money to most people. And during the time these ads have been running, all these low jackpots are being hit. Powerball won AGAIN!!
I don't mind the low jackpots. I want to remind you all that this is an odds game. The recent winning might explain if the jackpot does not get won for a long time. It just might be setting itself up for a record jackpot ever in powerball. I say prep your numbers. It might be a one time thing.I hope I win before the increase the matrix. I am sure all these 18 million winners are as happy as a 100 million winners.

Streak of jackpot winners is bad luck for Powerball lottery sales
Well, lucky for the winners obviously, but I also meant just random chance. If states are going to have a game that isn't rigged, streaks of both winning and not winning go with the territory. I don't think JQP is luckier than the states - even if there was a winner every time, there would be millions of losers out there, but the states make money on even the lowest of jackpots.Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on March 16, 2005Quote: Originally posted by tg636 on March 16, 2005If that's the cas

Texas Lottery Approves Mega Millions Changes
I don't really think a change is needed right now. 1 in 135 million seems like enough for now. I agree with jsk2001 that the consortium needs to simply observe what happens in real life, because predicting players habits is about as impossible as predicting the numbers. Look at the change to the current matrix. They were predicting $400,000,000+ jackpots, and they still haven't broken the old Big Game record yet. Of course there is one player habit that can be counted on, and that's no balls=no
