Texas Lottery Approves Mega Millions Changes
Quote: Originally posted by fxdwg on March 14, 2005I am just one who is not fond of the big Jackpots but if they did change it. My gosh the odds are overwhelming now at 1:135 million to change it to 1:175 million wow I am sure that there would be some huge JPs. But my opinion is of little value as I am sure the lure of big JPs will win out which is OK. I am fortunate enough to live in an area that borders a Power ball state so I shall just put that extra into power ball rather than Mega Millions

We don't trust the Indiana lottery, with prizes they size they are. Not the NY lottery. Here we're talking about prizes larger than the GNP of a lot of countries. Buying a ticket would get you lower odds than buying a raffle ticket for a giveaway junker when the carnival comes to town. I think I'd rather see something to rush the larger jackpots in the multi-state lotteries. I don't entirely trust those, but I'd see them as paragons of security and virtue compared to a multi-national with pr

Open Source Lottery Software
One more screenshotScreen5Here is some documentation. The lottery software is mainly used to manage your numbers and look for patterns. You just start up the program and load the past drawings from the mega millions website using the import tool.Analyze the drawing results (right now mainly look at the numbers yourself and use ) but the analyze tool is still being worked on to make charts and graphs. Then use the lottery wheel or play slip to add your picks.Use the filters on the drawing history t

Mega Billions
I think huge odds could be successful if you had two jackpots. California makes this possible for Mega Millions. You could have a rolling jackpot similar to the current one, odds of 1:135,000,000, and then another rolling jackpot with odds of 1:1,000,000,000 that would just roll on forever and ever. 70% of the jackpot money could go to the regular 1:135M odds, which, when California joins, could mean similar rolls to what we see now. Then 30% would go into the mega jackpot which would roll unt

What is the ideal jackpot size number of drawings to go without a winner? In other words, what should MegaMillions be aiming for?I'm glad to have $200-300 million jackpots be an unusual dvent. Fun if it happens, but so what if it doesn't. For now, I think everyone who believes that that MM is won too often should stop risking a small $10-150 million jackpot will be won with their ticket and not buy any until it gets to $200 million. To INCREASE sales REDUCE the PB Matrix
Jag,Why the need to reduce the starting jackpot? My contention is that by making the changes I proposed that more players will play and that those that play now will spend more. Why isn't the Powerball Commission publishing data that shows they are losing money? I believe the reason is that they are not losing money and will not under my suggested changes. If I'm wrong, show me the money WON, and show me the money LOST.I fear that the greed mentality that plagues our culture equally plagues
