I tried to do a search on lottery PB tax.
As mentioned, the 177.3 million is the cash option (if you don't want to take the annuity)
Whatever one you take, expect the Federal government to take 40% of it. Depending on what state you live in, expect the state government to take their highest amount (here in Wisconsin they take 7%)
Basically, whatever you win, subtract at least half from it, and that's what you get.

Powerball Sets A New Record
I actually believe this will happen someday.
My modelling program shows an 18 roll jackpot being in the neighborhood of $350M, but I believe that my equation would not be very accurate at an 18th roll. I agree that the jackpot would be well over $400M annuity at that point.
I think the equation does pretty well through a 17th roll, I think. It predicts the likelyhood of an 18th roll at around 15% right now, at the current jackpot level. Such odds are definitely beatable.

Is ist legal to play powerball online??
mylollipop a lottery club is a whole different matter. It's against the law to mail lottery tickets. in your case you should have some papers drawn up to include all the members in the pool have each sign the form as to how the money will be disbursed should you win. And include any incidentals like one person might want cash another might want annuity. Each person should agree on only one form of disbursement. Having different payment methods will be a pain.
Assign a designated person to pu

365 powerball
Not only is the annuity at a new record, but powerball.com also says the cash value option is $188.2 million, which we know is probably less. I'll bet that cash figure includes the cash in the match 5+0 bonus pool, and the MUSL just hasn't gotten around to announcing the match 5+0 bonus pool yet so that's the best they could do on such short notice.
Texas Lotto Report already has the sales figures up for tonight's (2/15) drawing: $92,537,801. Not only is it surprising that the jackpot was

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The MM has rolled over. The cash value is now $85.4 and the annuity value is $145M. A running average of 12th draw sales (2 data points) since the matrix change suggests that the sales will be around $36.1M. If this many tickets are ultimately sold, the probability of various numbers of winners is given in the following table:
081.43%
116.73%
21.72%
30.12%
40.01%
The actual jackpot reached, according to sales, a $73.8M cash value. The modeling program I use was th

Daily News "Lottery Gold" Numbers
Quote: Originally posted by CASH Only on February 13, 2006Quote: Originally posted by ladydragon76 on February 6, 2006I am hoping someone here can help. Anyone have any thoughts or the numbers if possible. Thanks in advance for any help.
I wouldn't bother playing. Most winners get a NY Cheapo 6/59 subscription, and

Virginia Lottery looking for Lotto South winner
I agree with both of you, especially mylollipop. I'd need a few weeks just to calm down. In fact, I'm always surprised whenever someone shows up at Lottery Headquarters on Monday morning after a Saturday night win without getting any financial advice. I'm also surprised there are articles like this only a few weeks after the drawing when a winner has so much time, although if too much time goes by he is losing a lot of interest. Maybe it's just to warn people in case the winner really doesn't

I see the word annuity there but i think some prizes may have a cash option. I have not bought a ticket for the scratcher yet and don't know if i will or not at this time.

the future of mega millions and powerball
The only thing that's a rip off about the games is the annuity. I have a feeling that at some point these backloaded annuities will either go away or get much worse. At some point it might go to 40 years and have to have an asterix next to the number claiming it's for 2046 (or whatever year it is +40) dollars to account for all the inflation that will eat away at what you actually win.
I also don't know if a change in the odds is needed for a high rollover. Both the Canada 6/49 and Euromilli

Is the Lottery (PB/MM) corrupt?
Since I've been such a vocal critic of the Hoosier Lottery I'll state for the record that while I absolutely believe the Hoosier Lottery is rigged (and I too have stopped playing all of their games) I absolutely believe that Powerball is on the up and up. I still play Powerball in Indiana because it is not under the control of the Hoosier Lottery. I do have some issues with Powerball...mostly their ridiculous odds, their back loaded annuity and the phony way they advertise jackpot values...but
