Georgia Mega Millions jackpot winner comes forward
Includes video report
It's the most wonderful time of the year for Ira Curry. The Stone Mountain woman purchased one of two winning jackpot tickets in Tuesday's $648 million Mega Millions drawing.
She claimed her prize Wednesday morning at Georgia Lottery headquarters.
It's unreal, said Curry, 56. It's like I'm still dreaming.
Curry purchased her lucky ticket at Gateway Newstand, 3500 Lenox Road, Atlanta. A second jackpot ticket was sold in California.
Curry selected the cas

who oversees the Mega Millions and Powerball
Hello,
I'm new to the site, and before i came here I never thought about the lottery being fixed. The posts I've read here makes sense, and has me doubting the veracity of the lotteries. I also disagree with having anonymous winners, if you take the opportunity to play, you should have to accept the fact that people will know who you are. The lotteries are too easy to corrupt with no major oversight. The 1980 pennsylvania lotto scam is an example how it's possible to fix the lotteries. Anyone

With new Mega Millions matrix... how do you choose your numbers?
I had a conversation with a regular lottery player. I asked her how she picks her numbers since she plays the same numbers every draw. With the new matrix I find it very hard to come up with sets of 6 numbers that makes sense together. 75 balls are a lot of numbers to choose from but she uses death dates and ages when they died. I'd never thought of that.
So... How do you choose your sets of numbers?
Has anyone switched to quick picks because of the new matrix?

TAX... lower tier prizes
Mike was talking about Uncle Sam, meaning the IRS/Feds, and that is the same for all states. Also was referring to Mega Millions, which is a jackpot game with cash and annuity options.
For a jackpot game with annuity and cash option, you have up to 60 days to choose your payment option, and at that point your are actually paid. So for instance if you won Mega Millions JP in October 2013, but claimed in January 2014, your winnings would be in 2013 because your choice expired and you had automa

Mega Millions patterns with the new matrix
I've been reading alot of threads and info about patterns in the lottery.
I'm lost on what you look for with the new matrix. Is it just gut instinct until more draws help build statistics?
Is their anyone other lottery with such a big matrix to compare it to? Google wasn't much help. Thank you for your time.

Is Mega Millions paying ?? Or are the odds just too high?
There have been NO JACKPOT winners yet. I count 12 2nd place wins and 1 BONUS 2nd place win since the change of the game. While Powerball has had multiple jackpot winners, and 2 times as many 2nd place wins in the same amount of time.
So are the ODDS just too high? I kinda think they may be, I am wondering if we WILL see a jackpot winner? Or if it will just grow grow with no winner...

The New Mega Millions Game - So Do You Like It Or Not?
Now that you've played it a few times, do you like it?
Will you continue to play it?
Will the new matrix affect how much you spend on it?
