OH Lot O' Play a failure?
I played Lot 'O Play on the second drawing and won $6 ($2 on 3 tickets). I like it - it's fun and unique. But, I would love to see a joint MI-OH game...I thought about this: Introducing: Lotto Doubler! Main Jackpot is a 6/49 game. Double Jackpot is a 7/49 game. Pick 6 of 49 numbers, or use a quick pick. Each Ticket costs $1. For an extra $1, you can pick a 7th number from the remaining field of 43, or have the computer do it for you! For regular players, match all 6 numbers drawn and win th

Powerball lottery madness spreads to big media
Seems to me every state ought to shoot for the pride of paying the highest salary on record to the director, or head of their lottery agency. States ought to compete to be the ones paying the head chief kahuna more than other states. Easy enough to accomplish. States ought to be paying their lottery director salaries based on an annuity. Yeah, the guy only makes ten grand a year this year. But fifty years from now he'll be in tall cotton. Give those lottery directors an opportunity to cash i

One ticket wins $4 million Illinois lottery jackpot
Six numbers on a ticket sold from Casey's General Store in Mackinaw, Illinois, will bring a tremendous change to the life of one individual. As of Sunday afternoon, the person who purchased the winning ticket to the $4 million Illinois Lottery jackpot had not come forward. We don't know who it is of or if they even know, but we're excited. Casey's clerk Patty Wilson said. The only ticket from Saturday's drawing that matched all six numbers - 10,19, 38, 39, 42 and 49 - was purchased, possibly Frid

PB: How many tickets will you be buying?
Mag:There is no cut; not a small cut, not a huge cut - zero cut. There never was $300M. Thereis no $340M.That number is the figment of a publicist s imagination. The only thing real about the artificial number is the fictitious check used in the publicity picture - atleast, I think the cardboard is real. Currently there is,approximately $164M is cash. If annuity is chosen by the winner(s), the cash is invested. At the end of the investment, maybe there may be $340M, maybe not. Today, right now,

would you take cash or payments on the PB
Judging from that quote I would hope you would hire a pro after winning. It's 25% withheld. Since the current Federal rate is 35% that would mean you would own 10% later (on April 15). Thus we can see that 35 - 10 is 25. That should be simple math. Since it is very unlikely you will have a lot of deductions the first year the IRS could hit you with penalties for not giving them the full 35% at a quarterly. Since most W2 wage slaves don't have to fill out quarterlies and most of the weathy do the

Fear of Winning
I am a very odd person. I find the lives of lottery winners fascinating, but I really don't envy the tons of money they receive. I actually fear the idea of having millions. To me having that kind of money is a responsibility that I just don't want to deal with. I have a great life now (albeit I am broke--not in an irresponsible way--I quit my job to finish my degree in Math Education, so lately things have been rough), but I am happy. I have a great immediate family all around--spouse, kid

You Just Never Know When It Could Winfall
Like a water balloon, you never know when the jackpot can burst open!Once the jackpot reaches $5,000,000 (30 year annuity), something interesting happens. It doesn't just keep rolling, and it doesn't just rolldown. What happens is a PowerPlay-style wheel comes out. It has 6 slots, 4 are Roll Over slots, 2 are Roll Down slots. If it lands in the Roll Over slot, the jackpot will roll into the next draw if nobody wins.If it lands in the Roll Down slot, should there be no winner, the jackpot

Should criminals collect jackpots?
Everybody have the right to have any kind of ideas about whether good or bad people should win the lottery and how they should spend it after they win but the bottom line for all states is what will make the most money for them.Years ago a group of good and ethical people convinced the Ohio lottery that it was bad enough to have a state sponsored lottery and it was even worst giving more than $20M of unearned money to any person who was willing to buy a lottery ticket, so Ohio installed a rule t

Lucky For Life
I know many do not like this game due to the small payouts, and annuity. But I could not believe it when I found out they don't even pay you $3,000 a month, or even $36,000 annually. After taxes it actually comes to about $27,000 annually, or $2250,00 per month. I have matched 4 out of 6 numbers 3 times so far out of about 100 plays. I was pretty upset to only receive $40 for matching 4 out of 6. Although I could live off of that much a month, and am now, it would not be all that great. I believ
