Illinois $14,500,000
Yes, I am playing the Illinois Lotto until someone (hopefully me) wins the jackpot. The game is also a bargain: 2 plays for $1. For those who don't know, the Illinois lotto is a 6/52 game, and you win by matching 6, 5, 4, or 3 numbers. Match 6 of 6 for the jackpot (duh) Match 5 of 6 for a pari-mutuel prize averaging $1000 per ticket Match 4 of 6 for a pari-mutuel prize averaging $33 per ticket Match 3 of 6 for a fixed prize of $3 per ticket I've got the following 2 sets of numbers for

Pick 5.
Lots of states do have rolling Pick 5 games. But the best has to be the afformentioned. PA's Cash 5 has the common 5/39 matrix, but is one of the few games of it's kind to offer jackpots over $1,000,000! I don't know of any others except FL's first version Fantasy 5 (another 5/39), it hit over one mil about 3 times before changing to it's second format. But don't forget VA's Cash 5, although the top prize is a fixed $100,000, it's a 5/34. Better odds, and it's played twice a day.

Michigan Lottery dropping Roll Down, adding Fantasy 5
Yeah the rolldown prize structure was horrible. This will probably mirror Illinois Little Lotto, but a year from now ,w hen the newness of the game wears off they will be in same boat as they are now. Unless they increase the payback %!! Dopes. The Ill Little Lotto is already seeing a decrease in sales as people are purposely waiting to play when the jackpots gets big, not playing when its 100k. I will only play when its big as I think the 4 out of 5 prize is horrible.

More pick 3 and 4 players than lotto
Quote: Originally posted by DoctorEw220 on August 14, 2004Dr. Ew goes for the big jackpots, but understands why a lot of people prefer the numbers games over the big jackpot games because one can easily pull in well over $50 grand a year, TAX FREE, all by hitting the pick 3 $1 straight a few times a week, for maybe 35-40 weeks. In theory it could work if you made it a full time job..just filling out the pay slips would take along time as you would be playing about 150 numbers a day..to win 3-5 ti

Hoosier Lottery: Den of Thieves...
Quote: Originally posted by jim695 on July 31, 2004Before Indiana had a lottery, I used to play in Ohio, and there was no state tax on any lottery winnings there. Part of the fun was not having to give the state any part of your windfall. I remembered when players would come from Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Kentucky to play the Ohio lottery, those were the days of jackpots upward of $60M plus, but I alway thought we had a state tax then. Well that is no longer true and now some of the l

Change Mega Millions?
Oh geez. I remember back when the Mega Millions jackpot was on a wild run and the Powerball jackpots were shorter than normal, including one that was won at $21 million, people here were putting that game down like crazy. Now that Mega Millions is on a hot streak, everyone is jeering at that game now. It's crazy. If Mega Millions were to add more balls to increase the odds, more than likely they would increase the set cash prize payouts. Tuesday night's payout was just dumb luck because e

Change Mega Millions?
I have always been in favor of changing it since they have added more states but in a more reasonable way like 5/53 + 1/53 making the odds 1 in 152 million instead of 1 in 135 million. I dont think a big change is warranted. If powerball added California for instance they also should change the game to reflect the increase in the amount of players.Sales are what count in a lottery and big jackpots sell. Expecting a big pot for every rollover is wrong but expecting a big pot every 6 to 9 months o

Change Mega Millions?
Todd,You must be getting e-mail from people that have won several small jackpots because I've been playing MegaMillions since it came to Ohio and I've never matched more than 3 or 1 and 2 with the Mega ball. Either that or they think it's too easy for someone else to win. They must not understand that if no one thought it was worth playing for a $10M jackpot, the States would never be able to save up for a $250M jackpot. To some of those players who have never won, it will alway be too easy f

Ohio considering bingo-style lotto game
In addition to a Match 6 clone, the OH Lottery is considering a Lotto 5x5 game that would play like bingo. Players would get 25 numbers in a 5x5 grid for $2, with only 5 selected by the player (or all 25 quick-picked.) The number field is 1-100. Players would win by matching at least 2 numbers in ANY row, column, or either diagonal, but can win only once per ticket. Jackpots would start at $1 million (didn't say if cash, or annuity with cash option). The Kicker add-on game is also being consi
