Mega Millions vs. Powerball?
i play both, powerball here in tn,we drive to georgia to get the mega millions. i like powerball better because it has the multiplier, and you can play multidraws if you want for longer times(up to 26 draws,i think) megamillions is only for 10 draws ,i think. mega millions does get higher, but powerball is just more fun for some,i like both. but i would choose powerball(formerly lotto america). i came close to winning the jackpot in lotto america,i had 4 numbers and was only a digit or two off on t

Any tips on scratch offs
Buying a scratch off ticket worth a decent amount is like walking down the street and finding a roll of twenties in the gutter it might happen once in your lifetime. Then again it might not. I have bought a winning scratcher for 9 grand in a rinky dink bar that sells lotto tickets and scratchers. Once in a while when a new scratcher game for big buck hits the ticket counters I buy a few at different places. I'm talking the 5 and 10 dollar scratchers. With jackpots of 500,000 to 100,000. I don't

Mega Millions vs. Powerball?
ryanm,Actually, Mega Millions sales are better than Powerball at this point, as the larger player base is starting to make a difference. During this current jackpot run for both games, Mega Millions achieved a $29 million jackpot after 3 rollovers, while Powerball only managed $27 million after the same number of rollovers. When the jackpots get over $100 million Mega Millions vastly outrolls Powerball. Powerball needs to add additional states, and more populous states. Perhaps California wi

Mega Millions vs. Powerball?
Quote: Originally posted by DoctorEw220 on July 18, 2004well. you state a good point there, but i would have to argue for mega millions because it has fewer states and a smaller population, yet the starting jackpot remains the same. granted the odds aren't as good as winning the powerball jackpot, but since i don't buy my tickets in texas, i don't have to be bothered with the multiplier. WHY SPEND $2 AND LOSE WHEN I CAN SPEND $1 AND LOSE TOO?No, Mega Millions has fewer states, but a LARGER po

Who Would You Tell?
To add to my last post, I would wait a month or so to let any hype die down, then I would claim my ticket with as little publicity as possible. I live in a small town, and if news of a lottery winner in the town got out, the newspaper wouldn't stop until they found out who it was. For that reason, I buy my jackpot lottery tickets out of town when I can. I travel out of town two or three days a week. If the press release said that a winning ticket was bought in a larger town 40 miles down the roa

Lottery Winners Remaining Anonymous.
Quote: Originally posted by DoctorEw220 on July 09, 2004remember that the lotteries want to prove to the public that people are actually winning these jackpots. They prove that the lottery has been won every time it starts out from the beginning amount.Under no circumstance should a winner have to advertise that they hit the jackpot. With so many wacko's out there it should be a responsibility of the state to offer some kind of protection to it's jackpot winners. Until they are able to get some s

Missouri lottery sales set record

Lotto Texas
I play the Texas Lotto regularly. I don't see how the drawings can be 'fixed' I believe the 1:47.5 million odds and poor sales are the reasons the lotto rolls and rolls and rolls. It took 31 rolls to get the jackpot up to $145 million. The lottery commission made it clear when they adopted the game that they wanted huge jackpots, no matter how long it took. Sales seldom exceed 3 million during the early draws, which is acceptable to the lottery commission. They get their 50 percent regardless an

Brothers win $26.9 Million Powerball Jackpot Cash Prize
Frankly, I feel some states are just made to win these jackpots, every once in a while, some of the smaller states might have a winner. Powerball states like Missouri, Minnisota, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire....these states really tend to have a high number of winners...and while I am at it, i may as well add South Carolina to it....SC has had three winners in just over a years and all of these winners were from North Carolina and all of them were claimed by winners (two married women) and I gue
