Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Had I used 21 bonus balls, I would have included the 2 since I ranked it 13th of 'most due'. That would have put it on ticket #13 for me (since I just ordered the MB numbers straight), and picked up a 1+1.
Well RJ, the 1+1 odds are 1:141, so it isn't all a loss!
I have been trying to figure out which is best for our pool, playing all 42 PB numbers at least once each, or pick half the numbers and play them twice, etc. We went with 16 PB numbers for tomorrow, spread out 3 times each over 49

Going to share a tip (MegaMillions)
That's why it is essential that you adjust your tracking system to the trends. For example, for MegaMillions, I keep track of the past 50 drawings. That's about 6 months. That is my sample from where I look at my patterns. Anything beyond that I consider outdated and possibly a skew. Sometimes too much information is too much information and you want to create a window of relevance instead of looking at the entire picture. So once I start to accumulate more than 50 drawings on my spreadsheet, I

What is the best system that wins more often ?
It was my own system but there's nothing spectacular about a group of 32-47 numbers having all the winning number 22% of the time, after all that's covering 6,444,032 to 70,561,194 possible combinations.
When I mentioned that the number pool were numbers that had hit 7-12 times during the previous 100 drawings, that was the system. If you can afford to play all the possible combinations, you're going to have a big winner 22% of the time.
I obviously mentioned that system as an example bec

What Would You Buy First After Winning Big
Businesses that are interested in targeting a certain clientel subscribe to a clipping service that finds the information they are looking for and sends it to them. Used to be they sent actual clipping from the newspapers, now it's electronic. Anyway, there are all sorts of companies who want to know who just got rich and will need everything from a swimming pool to a fancy tomb stone. Charities are always interested as are con artists. You can be sure lottery winners are included on the suck

What Would You Buy First After Winning Big
I disagree with you DC81. I mean, who remembers the names of most lottery winners? The only people who will recognize your name will be those who already know you. Most people really don't care. Except for the people on boards like this, very few people even heard of Jack Whittaker, and he's been in the news many times. I think if you hit the largest PB or MM jackpot ever won, there might be a lot more publicity, but millions of dollars just doesn't mean the same as it used to. Just go to the li

I can get closer to a win doing just all ODD/Evens
If you limited your numbers to multiple of 3 in a 5/39 game then you would limit your number pool to thirteen numbers or 1287 possible combinations, but that wouldn't reduce your odds of winning to 1:1287
Of the 1255 drawings of Ohio Rolling Cash5(5/39) only 2 had 5 numbers that were multiple of 3.

Amazing implementation of record highs.
As far as I know, there's never been a $400,000,000 jackpot yet, let alone $500,000,000.
Also, since this is about Powerball, considering Powerball has a multiplier (Power play), how can the pool possibly be divided equally among all 5 + 0 winners?
Sounds like a contingency plan for something that this particular lottery is figuring will never happen.

What is your lottery personality?
I play mostly Fantasy 5 as well. I dabble every now and then with the Mega Money. But, I like the odds better with the Fantasy. We have a pool at work for the Lotto. Not much has happened with that, either. I'm not a scratch off guy or a pick 3 or 4 guy. I guess my feeling is, when I win, I might as well win enough to do something with!
Sooner or later somethings gotta give! Can't win if you don't play!

...another discovery about lottery numbers
To get my initial list of numbers I look at the number of times the winning numbers have hit in the previous 50 drawings since the last matrix change. 60% of them have hit 3-6 times and 15% of the time all 5 winning numbers were within that group.
Using that statistic I start out with a group of 39 numbers: 01 03 04 07 09 11 12 13 15 17 20 24 25 26 27 30 31 32 33 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 54 55 56. This list is larger than I like so I will be doing some additional ana
