N.Y.State lottery answer my question
I asked the N.Y. State Lottery Commission why they didn't give the cash value amount for the lottery jackpots. Below is their answer. People on this message forum talk about this system software or that system software. People argue about cash versus annuity. This or that, this or that.... why this?.... why that? stability of the annuity issuing company (chosen by the lottery) is something i have thought about on more than one occasion...as a matter of fact, stability of any brokerage firm or even savings bank would be of concern to me. I have often thought that one way to diversify the risk would be to place smaller amounts of Cash (yes cash) in several banks to protect oneself from one or more firms going under in the dvent of a market melt-down.
