A test had been done at rec.lottery,and it shows that randonness beats human picks for the most part of time. If you only play 10 bucks,its better to use random ones,as most jackpots are won in 10 bucks. Actually there is a simpler formula that maximizes each number played 260-fold. That means for every $1 dollar you spend you are actually wagering 260 numbers($260)....therefore you won't need to spend $10K A third of that amount will do the trick. Let's do the math. The first number coverage would cost 10 bucks. The inclusion of the second number, 11-20 would add anothe ten numbers for every one of the first numbers, which would be 10x10=100 bucks. And by adding the last numbers, 31-36, it would add another 6, so it would be 100x6=600 bucks. That would be too high, so I would recommend sticking to just the first and the second number, and just adding one number for the end, like 36 or whatever. That would cost the same as 100 bucks.
