Quick Picks Vs. Number Selection
Whether quick picks are generated only at the local terminal or from the central computer is an issue of importance. I know every terminal must be able to communicate with the central computer as a requirement of the state lotteries. They also must be able to communicate with each other. Why they need to communicate with each other I've wondered, but it very well may be for the purpose of quick picks, from terminal to terminal. I'm somewhat concerned with the idea that quick picks don't come

Powerball's Future.
I want Powerball to remain just as it was this afternoon when I bought my tickets for tonight's draw ;-) With 19 draws (last year) at $100M or more, it seems that the game is set up just about right to attract players at both the normal and high jackpot levels. Powerplay is a nice optional feature at those times when a person wants to play fewer number sets and still chase very nice prizes. The fact that the number selection 5/53 and +1/42 is slightly different from MM adds a little diversity fo

Buckeye 5: 4/10/2004
RJOH:You are correct on how the numbers do fall in this game.I was hoping, really hoping that they were going to change their tune today! That is to say, the numbers that not have been coming up would hit.The 1, 4, 11, etc.Sticking with what is Hot , rather than what is Not is the key to this game.I should not have second guessed them. They did what they have been doingfor weeks now. Picking the Hot ones!Hey! But, at least we gave it a try. Not many Buckeye 5 Posters or Players it seems. Not to

Whats optimal strategy in lottery invest
Hi Hot Lotto,I don't know the answer to this question.....wish that I did !! However, what I've done over the last few years is to increase my stake as the prizes grow larger. I always play quick-picks and in Australia they offer 12, 18 and 24 game quick-picks (as against 5 games in the US).So what I tend to do is but say 24 the first week, 36 the second, 48 the third etc and return back to 24 when Division 1 has been won. This system seems to work quite well for me and I've run it close on m

Anyone........
have any stats on what age group plays the lottery the most? It always seems that the big jackpots are won by middle aged couples or old couples. What's the deal with that? Why don't you see any young people winning the big one? Do young people just not play the lottery? I'm 26 and I've played since I was in my late teens. Would be nice to see a struggling 18 or 19 yr old who just entered college win the Mega Millions or Powerball. Just wondered if anyone had any stats.ToddPlatinum298

My personal lotto strategy
Here is my personal lotto strategy (or philosophy).Do not believe that all numbers have equal chance of winning. That is simply NOT the case. Check your lotto combinations against an infinite number of randomly generated combinations to see is your combination warm or hot or cold . You can use many free scripts to do this, I use this one http://members.shaw.ca/dtoljagaSecondly, do not invest lots of money. $5-$8 per play is totally appropriate.Third, waisting your money on your family's bir

MM sets a new record
Quote: Originally posted by plnwebguy on April 03, 2004If you look at % increases though, PB is higher. It jumped from $31m to $39m or a 25% jump, and MM went from $75m to $90m, which is a 20% jump.plnwebguyI dont think you can compare the annuity rollover amounts because MM has a 26 years annuity (and hence its cash option is always higher) compared to 29 years for PB. Also you cant compare rollover amounts when the jackpots are at different amounts. Because if you look at MM's jump from $12

MM sets a new record
MM may be benefitting from some big state lottery jackpots (and vice versa) in some of it's states. New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Texas all have lotteries over $19 million - people are probably buying tickets for both their state lotteries and MM in those states. The only high one in PB is Oregon and it's at $14 million. Everyone else who's part of PB is under $10m - which I think most people in those states probably only buy PB tickets and after it reaches a certain level such as over $50m
