Multi-state lottery jackpots near $100 million mark
I think this is the first time that Mega Millions was in the lead of having the highest jackpot over Powerball and then Powerball took over.........without there being a MM jackpot win....
It'll be interesting to see jp amount after Montana joins Mega Millions on March 1, 2010.....

New games send lottery sales soaring
back when the tennessee lottery first started it was one of the best lotteries at the time.back then i was hitting pick 3 numbers five or ten times a ticket and winning huge money.hit the pick 4 a few times.used to win most of my money back on scratch offs.very fair and things were run pretty smooth back then.until the summer of 2007.i'd just hit a huge pick 4 in february of '07 which enabled me to move where i live now.after that i sort of got busy and wasn't playing lottery much and i got on h

Your State Now Having Both Powerball And Mega Millions
The problem with both Powerball and MM is that they both draw money from the states' games--for those states that have jackpot games--as the multi state games tend to develop higher jackpots. Less of this money stays within the state to support the programs funded by state lotteries.
The other thing is that Powerball tends to return less money to its players per dollar wagered than does Mega Millions--less bang for your buck. The latest Powerball winner won $47 million after taxes on a jackp

Your State Now Having Both Powerball And Mega Millions
Living in Washington, I normally play Mega Millions. I played Powerball in Oregon when the jackpot got really big. Now that both are available in Washington, I don't have to make a special trip to Oregon. In regards to the poll, I picked Other since I will still play both games, but will limit my play to whichever games has the higher jackpot. So, as of today, I am playing only Powerball since Mega Millions was just won.
Don't get me wrong, winning MM at the low level is still a wonderful pri

MUSL Games
The map showing where Hot Lotto is played indicates that it's played in smaller states, probably in states that are too small to have an in-state game with large jackpots. I don't think Texas needs it, because it has Texas Two Step at the small jackpot level, and Lotto Texas with multi-million dollar jackpots.
Before the expansion, Mega Millions was played mostly in larger states that can support in-state games with jackpots as big as or bigger than Hot Lotto.
If Hot Lotto expands too much

Powerball now in New York
I bought my first Powerball tickets today with powerplay. Hope I win some bigger amounts with Powerball than I have with Mega Millions. New York doesn't have but will be getting Megaplier in the near future. If anyone checked out the Texas payout for the last Mega Millions drawing they'd see that besides winning the jackpot three tickets won second prizes. One had the Megaplier and got 1 Million and the two without the Megaplier got only the 250 thousand regular prize. Now 250 thousand ain't ch

New Yorkers let's fight for Megaplier
Since I've been a poster at this site there's been a petition to get the Megaplier for the Mega Million states that don't have it. Now it seems the Powerball states that are getting Mega Millions will have the Megaplier and only Texas which already has it among the Mega Millions states will keep it. Not fair, I say. Let us New York Lottery players inundate the Ask New York Lottery, contact us email site with requests for the reason why we to can't have the Megaplier. New York lottery players

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
I've been to the ctlottery.org website in the past hour, but I don't see anything there about Mega Millions. This LotteryPost story broke the news to me that Connecticut will do double duty. I read a story here a few weeks ago that talked about the various states that are going to sell both of these games (MM and Powerball); Connecticut was not confirmed/committed at that time.
However, at the supermarket earlier this morning, I did see advertising near the lottery terminal that says sales of
