Tennessee may cap lottery winnings at $600 for poor
To qualify for welfare or food stamps you must be at or below a certain income level. This could mean anything from losing your job, be it laid off or fired, having a spouse leave you and leave you with kids to feed, a fire, or any number of calamity's.
You will be glad they have these programs should you for some reason fall on hard times.
This thread is about some government nutcase wanting people whom for whatever reason are on food stamps or a government programs not being ab

I think re-education should be available
Training and (re)education are great, but some things you can't fix, and this looks like one to me. The administrative opinion that he displayed an inappropriate suspicion of others seems well supported by Grimes' own version of events, and that's not likely to be affected by education and training. Whether he actually pointed it directly at them or not, his own version admits to drawing his weapon on three people. Two of those are because of minor t

Here's what happened:
Carl Liggett - January, 2004:
I was driving along a snow-covered county road at about 45 miles an hour. About a quarter-mile ahead, I spotted a small red-and-white pickup sitting in a driveway on the left. I covered my brake in case he pulled out but, as I got closer to him, I thought he was going to wait. I was about 50 yards from him when he slowly meandered into my path, doing maybe 20 mph. There was nothing coming in the other direction, so I pulled out to pass

Who really need money?
It's true that a good education won't guarantee that you'll be wealthy or successful. However, it opens up more doors. Still, I think attitude, lifestyle and just getting off your butt and doing something to improve your situation are all just as important. I'm saying that from experience. I can't even begin to add up how much of my life I've wasted, not to mention the money I'd have now if I didn't screw up so much.
BTW, I wasn't attacking Pac. I think people forget that I live in the same

Not all Retailers Pay Out to $599
First of all....Congratulations!
I mentioned once that I only won $72.50 getting 4/5 in Fantasy5 at 7-11 and the clerk didn't want to cash it, although I bought my ticket there. I now just go to a Publix supermarket to get paid.
Guru wrote: The register keeps track of items sold and then that total is compared to the cash in the drawer. It doesn't matter if the drawers collectively have a certain amount. It's not that simple. It is the cashier's responsibility to make sure their dra

Funny you mention the hostages. I was actually there in battery Park, in Manhattan, N.Y. when the the hostages were released and on a floatilla going through. I asked my supervisor for an early lunch break just to witness the event.
I was involved in a program at school where I worked one week for credit and went to school the other week. It was a co-op program for kids in high school who wanted to earn credits working at a job and get paid at the same time while earning credits for school.

California Lottery official fired for taking 'bonus' from hotel
Here is why he was fired....
Leeson allegedly signed a contract promising him about 97,000 Hilton honors points this year in connection with the state lottery's rental of 80 rooms per month at the Hilton, for $110 per night, to house Big Spin contestants.
Donald Currier, the state lottery's chief counsel, said Leeson is believed to have received a similar number of redeemable Hilton points last year, and an unspecified number in 2004 and 2005.
Hilton's honors program, like airl

a rumor...don imus to join a state lottery for work
Good way to get a non-lottery topic on the discussion board.
Anyway, I agree with RJOh - he's way too rich to accept such a position. I don't feel sorry for him. Many of these celebrities continue to work way past the age of retirement because of their egos, the fame and the easy fortune I doubt if he'll be headed to the homeless shelter anytime soon. I'm guessing he's been making an 8 figure income (anyone have that info?) more than most of us will make in a lifetime. Put this i
