Take aways
Yeah, I agree. This is definitely a trend -- I think caused by the desire to increase the size of the jackpot. When the jackpot increases, so does the number of ticket purchases. New Jersey, as part of their lottery restructure, has also eliminated their bonus drawing. Instead, they are focused on larger jackpots. Many lottery players enjoy a multiple prize structure which includes sizeable bonus prizes. Hopefully the lotteries are listening.

Investigation: Illinois Lottery didn't award 40% of scratch-off grand prizes
It was called The Good Life and offered the biggest grand prize of any instant game the Illinois Lottery had ever produced. Two lucky winners could scratch their way to $46 million each, paid in periodic installments. At $30, tickets weren't cheap, but millions were sold. Then the game ended before the lottery sold most of the tickets that were printed, with neither top prize awarded. The same thing happened with another instant game, called Birthday Surprise. Two large grand prizes offere

Powerball & Mega Millions Hmm...
So, adding one # it goes a million up. It depends on what the two numbers are. Picking 5/6 vs 5/7 it only increases from 6 to 21 combinations. Going from 250 to 251 will go from 7,817,031,300 to 7,975,914,050, which is 158,882,750 more combinations. 5/37 is around 1in4mil For 5 of 37 there are (only) 435,897 possible combinations, so starting with 37 doubling the numbers to choose from (to 74) increases the possible combinations almost 37 times to 16,108,764. The largest jump from

Despite sales influx from $2B Powerball, Massachusetts Lottery ticket sales falter
The Massachusetts State Lottery Tuesday stated it could be in some financial trouble regarding its overall sales for the fiscal year, despite the massive ticket sales generated by the recent Powerball jackpot worth $2 billion. According to Lottery Interim Director Mark Bracken, as of Sunday, lottery sales for the 2023 fiscal year are $22.5 million less than what they were for fiscal 2022. This includes overall instant ticket and scratch ticket sales, but it's an improvement from the $60 mill

Cycles - Interesting Numbers
I have: 1. 5625000 potential bunny locations in my data grid. This number is static. 2. 84000 locations that my bunnies carrying 45 numbers have visited in the past. This number is dynamic and grows by 45 each game. 3. 11178 locations where bunnies carrying the winning numbers have popped up. This number is dynamic and grows by 6 each game. 1. Is a mapping base that can show all potential locations for bunnies to inhabit at each game. I say it is static only because it is the number

N.M. Lottery chief wants to scrap earmark for education
The head of the New Mexico Lottery says his organization could provide more money for students if the Legislature scrapped a requirement pledging 30 percent of ticket sales to college scholarships. David Barden, chief executive officer of the lottery, said eliminating the requirement would allow for larger cash prizes and higher-priced lottery tickets, such as a $20 model. In the long run, Barden said, that change would pay off with more money from the lottery going to the college scholarship

Well I will close this now .... it took 6 drawings for this to be closed ..... im sure if i said i had made 2000 odd dollars when the first hit rolled in this thread would have been alot more busy ..... but lets think in more reasonable terms of what could have happened.... 50 numbers for 3 states is 150 numbers .... play all the numbers box in each state for 50cent apiece at a cost of 75 dollars .... 649 formula
I cannot say with impunity what RJOh meant, but this is how I interpret his comment. My observations about about the 3,819,816 combinations of regular numbers for the MegaMillions 5/56. My data is a little out of date: 827 drawings from 6/24/2005 through 5/24/2013. If I select a combination (for my ticket) that exactly matches a previous drawing, I would exclude it because there is only an 827-in-3,819,816 chance (0.02%) that the next drawing would repeat a previous drawing. It's not that
