An Idea for Mega Millions
It occurred to me that the main difference between powerball and mega is the number of white balls. So i think they should increase the number of white balls while decreasing the number of mega balls. If they added 5 white balls but took out 8 mega balls it would be a game far more likely to produce large jackpots. I think increasing both the white and mega numbers would only make it look worse but if they take out at least one mega ball for every white ball they add the odds would increase and s

Mega Millions Jackpot Statistics
Quote: Originally posted by Todd on November 14, 2003 Quote: Originally posted by Jake649 on November 14, 2003 ...The current jackpot would have to grow to $400 million for the average to reach $80 million. Todd,I think you misunderstood my statement. My opening statement was that the predicted jackpot average when the

Mega Millions Jackpot Statistics
fia,You are correct on the average jackpot size (when won). I rechecked my calculations and the average should be $64 milion. Thanks for pointing it out.The number of jackpots won was 20 but the total number of winning tickets was 22. I used the later number to compare to the expected number of winners. Just like one can expect no winners on some draws, one also must expect there to be multiple winnners on other draws. The current jackpot would have to grow to $400 million for the average to reac

£2.6m Lottery win goes unclaimed
A 2.6 million National Lottery jackpot has gone unclaimed and is to be handed over to good causes. It's the third largest prize in the lottery's history to go unclaimed.Organisers Camelot had urged players to have a final search for the winning Lotto Extra ticket. It was bought in south-east Northumberland for the draw on Saturday May 10 and carried the numbers 2, 7, 17, 25, 38 and 44.In February this year a 2,928,214 Lotto jackpot ticket, also bought in the Northumberland area, remained unclaim

Lottery player going to court over Powerball ticket
I agree with Allender that the lottery officials are probably lying about the time of the purchase. They have got to come up with a better way to establish validity of the purchaser. The people at the lottery commissions are just that HUMAN and when it comes to the amounts of money in lottery jackpots they are subject to corruption. Moreover, when it's just an average person involved, they probably feel that if they lie they will never get caught because they expect no one to believe the vict

Mid Day vs. Evening...
I think I will continue to track both mid and eve drawings... only unlike the jackpots I decided to keep the history in CSV files, (Comma Separated Values... date , number) as it makes it easier to import into several apps... MS Access and Excel.I don't plan on playing real money on it until it can perform on paper first, and unlike the jackpot games, it wouldn't bother me if I missed out on playing the winning combo one night (or day)...Thanks for the advice so far... Unlike the consequences

MICHIGAN Winfall $5 million
I dont play windfall very much, I prefer the big Jackpots such as Mega Millions. Also, since Windfall is only in Michigan, youd think that there will be more Jackpot millionaires. Not so, I think since the game had started this time in Michigan, there had only been 2 Jackpot winners. Another thing that I hate about this game, it takes forever for the game to get big. It only goes up around $100,000 each time no one wins. Not to mention, the odds are less than Mega Millions. Windfall is played

Next Big Thing -- Part II
Dear Lotto Lovers,It Is A Widely Known Fact That A Vast Majority Of People Will Have Fate Choose Their Destiny While Buying Lotto Tickets, Going For That Lucky Pick, Quick Pick, Or WHATEVER...!There Have Been Cases Of People Splitting Jackpots Also With This Method. So I Thought What If The Best Numbers From Exatly 100 QuickPick Tickets Are Wheeled Optimally For A GIVEN Lottery. Just Think, Because It's The VERY Same Software That Picks Your Lucky Balls While You Are Glued To TV Sets, Why Not Ta

Real Question
Hello all, I'm curious, who do you think wins most lottery jackpots; those who plan and dream or casual people who just pick up a ticket on a whim. The reason as I ask is because the recent winner of MegaMillions just picked up a ticket on a whim, I think it's fair to say he's not like us in the he's not really into lotto but the jerk won. Hehe, joking I'm happy for him. It just seems funny to me how many people that win the jackpot are not regular players, planners or lotto dreamers like us.

should megamillions change the rules
my parents spend more than 2 million just on their divorce and that was in the late 80's. i think a million is a lot less than you think. also i think alot of people think like i do about wanting large prizes - the amount of tickets sold (including the number of people buying them) soars if the prize breaks 200mil. if i wanted just a small amount of money i'd buy the daily pick 3 game like i used to. even a cheap house in a nice neighborhood here costs 2 mil +. then you factor in the money going
