do you quick pick or choose your own numbers?
I am a number picker, but I also consider myself a smart person. That is why when I see statistics that indicate the majority of JACKPOT winning tickets are quick picks, I can't argue with throwing a few more dollars on QPs than own picks, even when those QPs seem ludicrous...like when a QP contains 2 or 3 of the numbers just drawn in the previous drawing...or the repeat Powerball or Mega Ball number (but then again, Mega Millions had a string where 41 was drawn 3 consecutive times and Powerbal

The vastness of the odds for a jackpot win...
I read online that the odds on a Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot win, is between 142 million and 176 million. To expect to win even ONCE in your lifetime, playing twice a week, no less, one would have to play for 435 thousand years, to hit in ONCE. Clearly, the odds of winning by buying a ticket are almost equal to the odds of winning by finding an unsigned QP ticket on the street and pocketing it from the unlucky stranger gambler that bought it and lost it, and winning with that! You simply

I wonder if the Powerball will reach epic proportions?
PowerBall is hit more because of 2 reasons:
1. The odds of winning PowerBall's jackpot is 1 : 146,107,962 compared to 1 : 175,711,536 for Mega Millions jackpot.
2. A lot more states play PowerBall than Mega Millions.

Long odds don't bother 'Mega' fans
Charles Millard wasn't under any illusion.
My chance is a zillion to one, the 60-year-old Johnson City man said on Monday as he bought a ticket for tonight's historic $355 million Mega Millions drawing.
Still, across the Greater Binghamton region, players such as Millard lined up Monday at convenience stores and newsstands for a chance to win the largest pot in New York Lottery history, even though they acknowledged their odds were as long as Binghamton being named the sunshine capital o

would you play if.....
It depends on the amout of the lowest jackpot amount. Me personally, I don't play anything but the Mega Millions (and powerball once in a while) because the lowest jackpot is just enough for me to retire on. The NJ Pick 6 Lottery game is too small and to me, not worth the aggravation. That jackpot is only $2 million (Annuity value) and that would be quickly reduced to less than a million after taxes and cash value.
If they lowered the Mega Millions Jackpot to anything less than what it i

Do You Buy Lottery Tickets Right After The Drawing?
I just found out that it is possible to buy Mega Millions tickets right after the drawing (about 10:30 Central Standard Time).
The ticket is printed with the previous jackpot.
Does anybody else do this, even though the Jackpot is still unknown until 1:00 A.M?
It is great for me, because my state doesn't sell Mega Millions.

2 million dollar Supercomputer?
Mega Millions and Power ball use bingo/keno type balls and machines so there are no encrypted codes, RNGs, or formulas to decipher and crack.
Using the 5/56 and 1/46 matrix, Mega Millions has around 200 draws. Do you realize that it would take 38,000 drawings to create a data base that just represented 1% of all the possibilities? And that doesn't include the mega ball.
Is that enough data for even a supercomputer to project the winning mega or power ball?

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
I think that people are so desensitized to money as a result of media exposure to celebrity life, that 100 million just isn't as appealing as 300, or better yet, 400. Would I like to win 100 million dollars, you bet, but I would spend more on playing if the jackpot was over 300 million. And it doesn't seem to be helping that the Mega Millions and Powerball Lotteries have rarely seen large mega jackpots in the last year. I think people aren't playing because people are winning when jackpots are
