All a matter of luck
Most of the tickets purchased are quick-picks but the majority of the winners are players that select there own numbers.I found this out personally from research that was done on this subject from a lottery related website.Whether they used a system, software, lucky numbers or pulled numbers out of a hat players that selected there own numbers grabbed a majority of the Jackpot winnings compared to Quick-Pick users.Even though you moslty hear or read that a player won from a quick-pick doesn't mean

All a matter of luck
Quote: Originally posted by Thomas Covenant on July 11, 2003 It seems that 70% of winners use quick picks. Which fits because 70% of the players buy quick picks. It would seem that if lottery systems were worth a damn, they would take a higher percentage of the jackpots. Thomas: The idea is to give out smaller prizes to keep people buying in hopes of winning the jackpot. That's why they make the jackpot odds much higher than the rest. As you can see the bigger the jackpot the bigger the sales. T

picking a power ball
To Hypersonig,You would feel more foolest if your system had picked a winner and you had not played. I played $36 for the same results. If I had replayed the numbers I played last week, I would have collected $10. Oh well, Ohio has a $25M jackpot and I did match 5 last year, so maybe I'll put a little extra on it this Saturday. With MegaMillions, Ohio has 2 of the top 5 lottery jackpots in the country this weekend. You can now prefect your system and be ready when the next $200M+ jackpot come

Sometimes I even confuse myself...
ok, having decided to win the jackpot of one of the below listed games, I invest $5.00 per game, twice a week.Sure the jackpots are larger for the multi-state games, but hey, a million would take the edge off.So, if one would be satisfied with 1 million or so, I should be investing all 20 bucks in the MD lotto twice a week instead of spreading it out over all of them.Game OddsPowerBall 1 : 120,526,770 Mega Millions 1 : 135,145,920MD Lotto 1 : 6,9

Will Texas Join.....
I think I read an article here a few weeks ago that talked about MUSL and the Mega Millions Group putting on presentations for the Texas Lottery. Sounded from the article that MUSL (PB) had a better presentation. While it is true that MM is in the bigger population states, the fact that the jackpot has not grown that large since the new ball set started, may keep Texas away. The states all want big jackpots, and so far, PB is the only game that has delivered.I have a feeling that this will all be

What about Syndicates?
I am always very suspicious of anyone whose first post is about a syndicate. If you would like to point me to a news story showing a grand prize winner of one of your pyramid-scheme syndicates , I'd love to see it. I have no idea what research you're talking about, but whatever it is, it's dead wrong. Most jackpots are won by individuals, not syndicates .To Lottery Post members: when you see the term syndicate , be especially cautious. It is a catch-phrase for an affiliate-style internet

5/7 New Tex Lot 60-100 million Jacks
The new Texas Lottery 5/44 1/44 powerball has estimated jackpots of 60 to 100 million 3 to 4 times per year.More smaller payouts means you get more money back to play more. Still $5 for 3 numbers but not 54 but 44 balls.I can hit a powerball and that leaves only a 5/44 game. Can't wait, like the new Cash 5 and pick 3 midday games too. Sorry for all the people that don't like the change but the odds always were that you will hit fewer than 6 out of 6 so that means the payback is in your favor. Wi

Mega Millions getting boring
It is interesting that the jackpots have been hit well below the $500 million levels predicted, but I do not advocate making the absurd oddseven more absurd. I think it's better to spread the wealth, and you shouldn't let people whobeat the odds make the odds harder for everyoneelse. Who knows, the odds may even up when thejackpot goes above $500 million. I would take the cash if only because I don'tknow what shape the world will be in in 2029. Icare not a bit about maximizing my investments, but
