There needs to be a harder MUSL game.
jjtheprince, What are you smoking? No one has ever hit a 15 spot Keno ticket, and that's 15 drawn of 80. No one who knows anything about lotto would play the game you propose. Some of the lottey agents who monitor this board probably read your post and said, Told ya. RJOh, Thanks for doing the calculations and posting them.

hallo RJOh I have following you in this forum from long time ago. Thanks for your advices, but I m not looking for a general recommendations, but a good method. I have read a lot of times people that say: I have played 15 numbers but I haven t matched more than 2 numbers in any wager. All The Brains
RJOh, Why didn't you let guesser reply? Besides, your answer is misleading and innacurate. 1-2-3-4-5 is no more or less likely to be drawn than 3-7-8-21-39, which was my point, and which you are evading. If you define a Straight as N, N+1, N+2, N+3, N+4, N is restricted to the range 1-55, which means there are actually 55 possible, not 54. If we wished to bet only on patterns represented by my other example, it could be defined as N, N+4, N+5, N+18, N+36. By inspection, you should se

All The Brains
RJOh, Anything and everything done in an effort to beat the game. I'm pretty sure that not only do the lotteries have their own people constantly checking the integrity of the games, but that the games are tested and retested before thye ever become availalble to the public. The incident years ago in Pennsylvania with the Pick 3 was a fluke, bit somewhat of an inside job, no? That and the group that teamed up on the Virginia lottery, but since then no one can tie up terminals like th

Interest In Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RJOh, Thanks for your thoughtful response. It's hard to disagree with most of what you said above. A [notable] exception is that I think it is foolhardy to cavalierly dismiss the accumulated knowledge of centuries from around the world. Don't forget, the flat earth crew didn't land on the moon! I suspect the only thing we truly disagree on is whether it's possible to design a mathematically consistent, provable system, or not. I also believe YOU would welcome any method that could test

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RL, RJOH, You two are telling the story of Christmas, 1987. Our oldest son, Jeremy, wanted to take a spring course on computer basics, which was just beginning to be taught in high school. So we decided to get him a Tandy 256 with a 5 1/4, 360K, floppy drive. When I saw the guy demonstrating it, and heard the assurance that Tandy was not going out of business because it had Radio Shack's backing. I decided I had to have one to see what this monster was all about. Wrote my first program

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
RJOh, I think I know what might be keeping you from following Doug's logic. When you think of betting on 10 Draws, 1 Ticket each, you probably subconciously think of time, that the scenario will take 10 days to complete. On the other hand, when you think of purchasing 10 Tickets for 1 Draw, your mind sees it happening in 1 day. This can be confusing when trying to equate the two scenarios. To make things simpler, because of parimutel complications, let's assume you buy ten unique Tickets f

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RJOh, Thanks for your input RJ. So far, yours is the only comment worthy of a reply. My reason for posting the two articles above is primarily to lay some groundwork for a possible simulation of one or more aspects of a popular lottery system. You're correct in alluding to the fact that many observations of draws and bet selections are required to pass judgement on a system playing games with as many possibilities as a (5,39) Lotto. In most cases, the games don't have sufficient history to
