Playing the Lottery can be Tax Deductible
Annuity is Great,You are making the rounds today. Thanks for your input. LOLI agree that if you win $50 million it's not worth it to keep a tax log. The question is, how many $50 million jackpots have you won? I have not won any yet, but plan to one day.I have won 5 out of 6, 3 different times, and each of those times I did maintain a tax log and it did save me money at tax time. So, in my opion, for those that plan on winning more than $599.99 and less than $50 Million, the Tax Log is a gre

Mega Millions and Powerball Synchronized
Hi, Guys/Gals,I think in the long run PB would be doing better than MM despite the fact that population in MM states is larger than PB states. Most of the PB states are relatively small and have much smaller jackpot lotto games. Most of the MM states have larger size jackpot game which is somewhat comparable to MM jackpot. I guess most of the time people in MM state prefer state lotto although the jackpot is smaller than MM but the odds are much betters. For me, what's the difference between 10

Mega Millions and Powerball Synchronized
I think this is the first time since both MM and Powerball were changed that they are in perfect synchronization. What I mean is that the jackpot for both games was hit during the same drawing cycle (MM on Tuesday, Powerball on Wednesday). Both jackpots reset to $10 million. It should be interesting to see which jackpot grows faster. It is a perfect comparison, because the there can be no excuses of cyclical ticket sales (i.e., day of week, seasonality, holidays, etc.) impacting the jackpot gr

Maryland Lotto Dec. 28th, 2002
Funny how my Classic Lotto fantasy is a little more well balanced than the PowerBall or Mega Millions. It's a decent fantasy but with the small jackpots I might have to still work. No wild parties in my head. I had friends win it when I was a kid. The jackpot was like 200k and the final drawing was on tv with the finalist spinning a wheel or something. This was back in the sdventies and probably was influenced by Monty Hall and a bunch of other carnival barkers of the day that were popular on

Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on December 27, 2002 Mr. Whittaker has stated that he was only interested in the lotteries when the jackpots reached $100M or more and he bought a $100 worth of QP tickets. By the way I bought $42 worth of tickets so I missed buying a jackpot ticket by $58, next time I will know better.RJOhRJ,It's interesting you should bring that up because I think of the previous Big Game $363 Mil winners also s

42 Chances at Powerball $39
I didn't win but as expected I matched the power ball for $3. I also matched 3 of 5 no PB for $7, so 42 chances will have costed me $32. That the cheapest shot I've ever had at a $200M jackpot, so I may try it again if I ever get the chance. I thought about doing the same thing with Megamillion, but 52 chances for $50 just don't sound as attractive. I'll probably run some simulations on lower jackpots and if I get lucky enough time, I may try it when the MM jackpot reaches $200M. RJOh

Remember Powerball's New Rules?
And that is what I am going to like playing! I mean big jackpots are cool and everything but I am the kind that would like to see 65 $1,000,000 prizes rather than one $65,000,000 winner. I like the idea that they are going to cap it off at 5 million and raise the lower tier prizes. We like to play when the jackpot is high but i mean wouldn't you like to get more than $2 for matching the mega ball when there is 52 different mega balls that can come out! I am from Michigan and I can't wait for

Annuity Option a waste?
Very interesting question. US lotteries probably began paying winners through annuities even before NY Lotto began in 1978. I suppose annuity sellers wanted to get in on the action back then. I don't think the big US lotto games will drop the annuity OPTION because they would no longer be able to advertise the inflated amounts. Whether even longer annuities will be part of US jackpots...It must be remembered that various instant scratch games are still ANNUITY-ONLY, as well as the Mass. 6/42 a

Cash Vs. Annunity, revisted
I couldn't tell you. I do know that a lot of the annuity people went broke because they sold their annuity for less that half of what it was worth, then spent it all. The mega million cash option jackpots hasn't been around that long. Time will tell. Personally I would take the cash option and have everything safely invested before I started any major spending. A mansion in every country, and a yacht and a private jet to get me there wouldn't really fit into my lifestyle with three small kids.

Website Gone ??
Don't give up on a number just because it has hitted before. Last month I searched the file of Buckeye5 drawings and found there were 5 combinations that had hitted twice since the game started over 10yrs ago. I used the parameters that would cover those five combinations to come up with 8 combinations to play and matched 4/5 for $250 and replayed them the next draw and matched 3/5 for $10 and on the third try matched 2/5 for $1. I thought I had discovered something, but came to the conclusi
