After alleged lottery ticket theft, store banned from ticket sales
That might work fine for your group, but everyone in that pool were machinists, electricians and maintenance repairmen who were working a lot of overtime and some of their tax brackets could have been nearer $30% so no one wanted to take a chance if they had a good year.
Besides, regular taxpayers have to combine their lottery loses with their overall loses due to interest on debt and other expenses associated with their work and exceed the standard $4500 allowance everyone gets regardless be

Breaking Las Vegas: Could it happen to the lotto..
Interesting. Thanks, Coin Toss. I wasn't doubting Stack47, just thought the whole idea sounded crazy. The article does state that even with a well organized group of 35 people, they were not able to cover every possible combination. There was still a very large gap and quite a chance that almost 2 million other combinations could have been drawn. So there was still a lot of luck involved and much more risk than I'd ever take.
In a way, I really have to support the official decision, and

proven lotto prediction!!
But when it's all said and done, I'd say ANY of us that paid attention can list 18 numbers in a 49 game and have a pretty fair chance of hitting all 6 or 7, I'd say 1 out of every 4 times at worst. I'd try it, but I don't play any 49 games, and it would take me 3 months of data and database work before I'd even guess at what to list. I get all 5 WB's in Powerball every other game lately (obviously not in the same game), but I have a pool of 15, sometimes 16 numbers to work with, and that's too

Maddogs Powerball Challenge 2/17
Guesser,
Oh, why thank-you Miss Brooks . I didn't realize I had called the secretary pool, before I signed off but apparently I did.! Damned alzheimers creeping up on me. Well, I made the mistake in posting, but I guess that makes me human right? By the way, I think these may fit, don't you?

Texas compared to Florida
In response to the match 5 of 6, second-tier prizes question:
Florida pays out 12.3% of prize money to 2nd place. Texas pays out just 2.23%. This explains the wildly different amounts for second place.
Each state makes its own decision as to what percentage of the prize pool to allocate to each winning level.

Company proposes new pooling lottery ticket to fight 'jackpot fatigue'
I wrote to all of the powerball state lottery representatives and warned them about this problem when they raised the powerball odds from an astronomical 120million to 1 to the statistically impossible 145million to 1. When the odds are raised people expect higher jackpots and when it takes forever for the pot to build up to the expected level, then sales are going to drop. The pool solution is something I would never participate in simply because it's another hand in the player's money. My s

anyone thought of this:ScratchOffs Syndicate
Locally an independent gas station ran a fish bowl pool. Its customer would buy $1 scratch-offs, write their names on them and throw them into a fish bowl. Every Saturday there was a drawing and the person whose name was drawn from the fish bowl won 400-500 tickets. It all ended when someone caught one of the workers taking out some tickets for himself.
I've never trusted scratch-off games since I read about the Indiana lottery security person sending his friends to a store to buy a roll o

signing your tickets
Yes, I agree. I guess I was thinking more about the huge jackpots. I never won more than $75 at a time, so I haven't had the pleasure of signing a $600 winner! It would be crazy not to sign my ticket immediately if I won thousands of dollars.
Does anyone know how a signature would have an effect on creating a Trust or LLC? I'm not talking about a pool. So many people here have said not to sign the ticket, but I'm not so sure it would make a difference if the winner signs his ticket and

You know who's 50% would be shared The players 50%
You can bet the states won't give up any part of their 50%. And to come to think of it Powerball is less than 50% going to the players as it is now because of the power play option!
I SAY NO TO ANY NATIONAL LOTTERY POOL OR STATE LOTTERY POOLS!
