Todd: The other potential members are all Southern states. I think the #1 purpose of this game is to allow players to try for sizeable jackpots without the impossible odds of Powerball/Big Game. As for the jackpot being hit too often, it's certainly possible, but, it means that there will be bigger rollovers when not hit. RJ: Since Ohio isn't part of a multi-state game, and probably isn't about to sell tickets for one, it needs big jackpots in their 6/49, even if it means you lose with three numbers, and win just $5 by matching 4-of-7. The Hoosier Lotto (6/48) pays $3 for three numbers, and a free play for just TWO NUMBERS, because it doesn't need an occasional $100 million jackpot since they have Powerball. Todd, as you know, I live in New York, but, I follow the progress of other states' quest for big jackpots. One thing you did NOT mention is how Ohio discriminates against lump-sum winners by using a smaller cash value (15-20%) than for those who take the annuity (30 payments.) Ohio needs to join a multi-state game (any more on a proposed joint game with Pennsylvania?)
