Powerball lottery jackpot increased to $184 million
Yeah I don't go pay attention to the astronomical odds of winning. There were 17 jackpots won in 2010 for Powerball and at least 11+ jackpots won in each of the previous years. And pretty much the same goes for Mega Millions. So you could expect at least 20+jackpot wins between both games this year. Someone is going to win, that's guaranteed. So say to yourself, it could be me!

Small Jackpots vs Big Jackpots
I like big jackpots like anyone else, but lately I been playing games with smaller jackpots and odds. In Massachusetts we have Megabucks Doubler and Cash Winfall and i've been playing those more recently. Megabucks is at $3,000,000 right now with 1 in 14 million odds. I'd take the annuity which is for 20 years. Cash Winfall is at $1,175,000 with odds of 1 in 9 million and the payout is cash. I'd be eating real good with winning any of those.

$237 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised again
I wouldn't expect the jackpots to get higher unless the matrix changed which would also change the odds of winning it. My point was the jackpots were getting as high as they ever did with a 5/56+1/46 matrix regardless of the number of states added.

What is your lottery goal for 2011?
My goal for 2011 is to win one of the big jackpots in the Florida Lottery such as Fantasy 5, Mega Money, Lotto or Powerball. To increase my chances of winning a big jackpot I would have to eliminate Cash 3 and Play 4. So I will have the extra cash to focus on the bigger jackpots.

What's with NY Sweet Million??
NY Lottery started this game saying there would be up to 6 million dollar jackpots available per game. If more than 6 people win, then the jackpots get divided up between the winners---but you are right on the amount of jackpot wins there are, they come few and far between. But who wants to pass up a chance at a million for only a dollar a dream??????

How Many Tickets Per Draw Are Necessary To Win?
I said one because it only takes one to win, but to increase your chances of winning only 5.This gives you a chance to have money to play again, which also increases your chances of winning.I read a lot about lottery jackpots across the states, most million dollar jackpot winners pick 5 quick picks, its rare for someone to win huge jackpot choosing numbers.Someone wonrecently after buying 50 qp.and another winner of millions of dollars choosing his own, but if you read lotto stories you will find

Why do people play QP's?
The poll question is why do people play quick picks. Using the Illinois Pick 5 game as an example, because it is drawn daily, these are the results as of July 5 2010. To date: 81 Jackpots 38 PP 66 QP Solo jackpots: 63 Shared jackpots: 18 Highest jackpot: $625,000, one winner on May 11 The game is drawn every day, July 5th was the 186th day of the year, so a jackpot has been paid every 2.29 days. Of the jackpots 66, or 81.48% were QP. 38, or 46.91% were player's p

Ohio lottery ticket wins $261.6M Powerball jackpot
Ohioans were winning PB jackpots long before PB tickets were available in Ohio. Remember the machinists (lucky 13) from Columbus a few years back and the GM worker from Dayton a couple of years back. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that they would continue to win once PB tickets became available locally. Ohioans have alway bought a lot PB tickets which is the reason Ohioans have won PB jackpots. Now that tickets are available locally, they will be buying even more and winning more.

Texas: 5/1 - 5/31/2010
Actually if you guys have noticed every time the TLC website tardiness has drawn comments on this thread, it has universally coincided with significant Powerball jackpots. I noticed the website has became slow always before and after Powerball jackpots of significance are up for play. Many users have noticed this ongoing trend since the introduction of Powerball in Texas earlier this year. Apparently someone has made an executive descision that there is no cost benefit for upgrading bandwith for

Powerball and mega Millions
It's a paradox. Sice both games are now in many states there are a lot more people playing, which increases the jackpots. But with that more people playing, it's more likely the jackpots are more likely to get hit than with less people playing.
