Claiming as a legal entity
California seems to have done the same thing PrisonerSix. How Does a Player Group Divide the Tax Liability? Group winners of Scratchers annuity prizes, SuperLotto Plus jackpot, Mega Millions jackpot or Powerball jackpot prizes must choose the same payment option, and may use the Multiple Player Ownership Claim Form which allows each group member (up to 100 members) to receive individual payments from which their federal taxes will be withheld. Weclome wayne3 to Lottery Post ! Members here are very generous with their time when they post. I am enjoying the forums, search, and much more that is offered. If you will use the Search box at the top right corner you will be able to read about Arizona's past winners. May I suggest the Pence family, Don Shirley Pence. Shirley purchased a winning ticket on March 4, 1995 worth $102,000,000.00 . They chose the twenty year annuity option and I think their last check is due March 4, 2015.

EuroMillions jackpot at record levels, capped at €190 million
if the EuroMillions jackpot was won by one person, they would walk away with more money after taxes than Gloria Mackenzie who won $590.5 million annuity or $371 million cash from playing Powerball. $371 million is about $222.6 million after paying 39.6% in federal income tax. Compare that to the EuroMillions jackpot that is $240.4 million cash and 100% tax free if you're a non US citizen. If you were to play the EuroMillions and you won as a US citizen, you would have to pay federal income

Congratulations.... Good Luck with trying to lead a normal Life . l must say that l admire his stance in having his interview over the phone , no cameras flashing in your face, none of that cardboard cheque crap they want you to hold...In fact one could ask and answer your own questions.. Why not choose the annuity?
CT, thanks... I forgot about that basic premise- the advertised vs actual amount. I suppose if you're financially savvy and/or have a trusted circle of advisers, then the cash option is the way to go most of the time. Key word trusted ... savvy For me, the notion of having a new pile of cash option money like that in my hands and fending off the hordes is kind of scary... can't claim anonymously round here. At least with the annuity (in higher JP's- MM/PB), if you make a mistake one ye

Man wins lottery, loses in court
He got (or thought he got) independent experts all saying the same thing. If you missed it, here's the smoking gun: When Flannery brushed off Singer, the court said Singer steered him to MacGrady If he didn't think what Singer was offering was a good deal, why would he take advice from somebody they steered him to? They obviously shouldn't have deliberately misled him, but he made a stupid decision. It's difficult understanding why he thought a one time payment was taxed as capital

Why does the Mega Millions Jackpot not start at $40 mil?
Yes the revenue is higher, but the profit is the same, meaning they have to pay out the same percentage.(50%) Additional revenue taken in for the jackpot pool is always paid out to the winners. Sure, they could do other things to pump up the starting MM JP, but that would require a rules change. They could add a dedicated jackpot reserve like PB has. They could roll over the excess, like take the extra $14M from the last big $400M JP and apply it to the base/reset starting JP, instead of payi
