Many people are winning larger amounts on mega millions. A $10 win can easily be $40. The goal was to differentiate the two large jackpot games. Keeping them the same price and similar matrix doesn't achieve that.

While I can't see the Measly Millions surviving the $5 price tag. It will be interesting to see if/when the $750M jackpot comes into existence for the frenzy purchases to begin. Perhaps if the new figure will be at $1B?? Good luck to all that participate in the MM which I Think it should be renamed from Mega Millions to Slow Climb .

I belong to a pool that plays Mega Millions and Powerball. The manager of the pool also has pools for UK Lotto. I have not participated in the pools but I see they often win. For example, they played last week and won more money than they spent. This is always a good thing.

The Mega Millions jackpot has increased by $23 million to $381 million after 21 consecutive rolls. This is a surprisingly small increase given the Powerball jackpot was won recently and is only $33 million. This is caused in part to a lowering of interest rates.

I agree with your statement. The car industry is different, because cars are a necessity for most people. We don't really have to play the lottery. But most lottery players would agree that $5.00 is too high for a single ticket. Honestly, I think the reason why the Powerball jackpot is so high is because most people who previously followed Mega Millions completely stopped and switched over to playing Powerball.
