Some information about Powerball
Bertil,I keep my own stats for PB in an excel sheet, a simple series of countif() functions are all you need to obtain your own frequency data, by selecting the ranges, you can get this data overall (as posted on the PB site) and by position.my newest sheet is frequency by date... shows the climb of frequencies with each draw with a rolling count... sort of a scrapbook of where frequency data was when a certain draw went off, hasn't really helped in getting any closer to winning, but it is inter

Still trying to figure out how to count skips in excel... Had been reading about using a COUNTIF formula with the INDIRECT formula, but no luck so far in actually implementing it (they didn't provide an example). Anyone have any other ideas?

just simple excel formulas, once the formula is written (an IF test to prdvent carrying the 1 in the thousands column) it's simply a matter of autofill, took longer to type the IF statement than to fill and recalculate all 10 steps in the rundown, then another IF statement to see if any of the rundowns matched the drawing... if so they put an X in a column... then just countif the x's :-)simple to a fault, I still don't know how to test for BOX hits, so right now I'm just finding the straight hi

A2 because of the header row and 9100 represents the end of the history listnow just autofill left and you have the mode for each position. I keep the number side by side in 2 formats, one is each number in posi

2 billion random numbers and none of them matched the last draw
(I love this new 64-bit workstation!)
The game's MM, and here's the spreadsheet (Excel 2003 SP2):
The first 56 columns are 56 random numbers using =RAND()*RAND()/RAND(). This should make certain all 56 numbers are different.
The next 56 columns are the rank of the random numbers using =RANK(A1,$A1:$BD1) in cells BE1 through DH1.
The next five colums are the first five of the ranked in numerical order using =SMALL($BE1:$BI1,1), =SMALL($BE1:$BI1,2), etc.
Then I did five =IF stateme

Excel Rank formula
=(IF((A2 0),RANK(A2,$A$2:$J$2),(RANK(A2,$A$2:$J$2,1)+COUNTIF($A$2:$J$2, 0 )))+COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2))-1
You will need to change the column in the formula or copy and paste this formula to cell a3 and then copy cell a3 in b3 thru j3 with the formula paste.

3 0 0 0 0 3 9 14 14 9
