Filter Probability Question
Ok, I think I see part what you're asking. Yes, you can get a probability from an average interval. Let's say that on average an outcome happens once every N draws. Then the probability of that event happening is 1/N. The probability that that particular event doesn't occur in K consecutive draws is
(1 - (1/N))^K
An example: The probability of an Even-Even-Even combo in Pick 3 is 1/8 = 0.125 = 12.5%. You would expect the lottery to draw an Even-Even-Even combo once every 8 draws on averag

How much is enough
You posed a problem and you answered it!
I believe that my future analysis should be guided by one undeniable fact:
Drawings are independent events. That is to say that the results from a Day drawing has no effect on the Eve or any other drawing.
Many people do not subscribe to that 'fact', the clue is the 'structure' of the 10 digit pool before the event. This approach reduces to pool to a workable Base.
The problem with crunching past data is the 'PRIOR' Data, which data are you

Another thing that kinda goes into the whole butterfly effect discussion, is the topic of hindsight bias. From wisegeek.com:
Hindsight bias is a documented psychological phenomenon in which people exaggerate the predictability of an event after it has already happened. Some psychologists refer to hindsight bias as the I knew that was going to happen effect. You can probably find a few examples of hindsight bias in a pub after a major sports event, with people claiming t

Predicting winning numbers? Fact or fiction?
Probability Definition in Math
Probability is a measure of the likelihood of an event to occur. Many events cannot be predicted with total certainty. We can predict only the chance of an event to occur i.e. how likely they are to happen, using it. Probability can range in from 0 to 1, where 0 means the event to be an impossible one and 1 indicates a certain event. Probability for Class 10 is an important topic for the students which explains all the basic concepts of this topic. The probabili
