Lottery millionaire Bud Post dies
This is one case where taking a 20 or 30 year annuity might help someone control his spending and be more responsible. I can't believe someone with all those children wouldn't have the sense to form a trust. There was definitely something emotionally wrong with this man. I wonder if he suffered from some kind of PTSD since he served in Korea. The article didn't get specific about his tour of duty.He obviously had troubles before he ever won and took them to his grave which is sad. Did he die o

Lottery number strategies subject of newspaper investigation
If the lottery cannot be beaten how is it that many of us can pick 3 digits out of 10 and pin the tail on the donkey and we can do this just about everyday! If that is not beating then lottery then what is? How about when those here can pick 4 numbers right as well and again pin the tail on the donkey? If we can do this with pick 3 and or pick 4 what is to stop us from pick 6 correct numbers? There is nothing stopping it and so I disagree with the statement the lottery can Not be Beaten! Only th

Illegal deals of Minn. Lottery revealed in court documents
From the article:After Andersen's suicide, Legislative Auditor James Noble said that while he found much to question and criticize about lottery finances, he found no criminal wrongdoing. In the warrants, drafted in June 2004, investigators wrote there was probable cause to believe that the three engaged in a conspiracy to wrongfully and illegally obtain Minnesota State Lottery funds and resources for Media Rare. _________________________________________________________________________________

Draw history, does it matter?
True that 1,2,3,4,5,6 has just as much of an equal chance to be drawn. But as quoted from an article I found on the net: There is a big difference between an event being possible inevery drawing and how often an event is likely to occur. It's just common sense, the more there are of a thing in a potthe more likely you will pull one out in a draw. Some will say there is exactly one type of each combination, only we're not talking about combinations right now, we'retalking about having the numbers th

N.C. lottery bill weakening
Konane,You are absolutely right about writing or emailing the elected officials. I emailed several of the senators that are opposing the lottery asking them to change their mind and support the lottery. Or to at least let the people of North Carolina vote on the lottery bill and pass it. All North Carolinians that are lottery post members, PLEASE write, email, or call the senators that are opposing the lottery and let them know that we need their YES vote for the lottery. All 21 Republican

Benford's Law
Hi Friends, While researching unrelated scientific subject matter I came across an article on Benford's Law. I decided that LP should/could benefit. I see that Win D already brought this up on November 25, 2004. Of particular interest is how it can be used to determine whether a lottery is being run fairly or not. You could probably sue the state lottery if Benford's Law proves that they are cheating.http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/moments/s116315.htm Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Jackpot lottery ticket: dying man's final gift
my original comment to pick 4master was born out of a friendly debate that is on-going whether God has anything to do with the lottery.obviously i believe he does.even though there was no mention in the article about God, to me it can be so simple as the guy having the idea to tell his daughter to buy a ticket. nothing hocus pocus or mystical about it. no mention in the article of any credit given to God for thier win, or any affirmation of some kind of faith. i don't for a minute think th

NY lottery pool members sue over Mega Millions jackpot
The article says the co-workers sued him two weeks after he won. That was back in November. The article also says he used what the pool won to buy more tickets. That's what's going to lose him the money. Piccolo's wife is the greedy one. She's the one that told him not to split it with the group. The problem is 50-50 both Piccolo's and the group's fault. What idiot joins a pool that doesn't put out copies of the tickets. And what idiot runs a pool that doesn't put out tickets BEFORE the draw

More on the Hoosier Lottery...
I recently wrote the Hoosier Lottery with the following comments: I noticed something when I checked my PowerBall tickets today. At the top of each ticket is printed the following message: Remember draw time is now 9:59 PM EST! Sales cut off is one hour before the drawing. As far back as I can remember, sales cutoff has always been one half-hour prior to the drawing. When did this change take place, and when did you announce it? IC 4-30-3-5, Sec. 5 states,

Our Rights are slowly being taken in Indi
Last week I had read a article in the chicago tribune where a employer had told his employees that if you smoke...you can't work here. He also mentioned that if you smoke anywhere , as if on vacation or at home(in the basement or bathroom) or just smoke just anywhere...he doesn't want you. All smokers would be fired regardless where or when you smoke. He cited rising health costs that he provides for his employees and said if they didn't smoke they wouldn't get sick and wouldn't have sick da
