Megamillions at 88 million
twisted,My estimate tried to account for California sales. The current 15 roll record is $294 million. I estimate the record will be exceeded by about $30 million giving a 15 roll estimate of $324 million. This is keeping in mind that the current jackpot progression is tracking less than the current roll records and California has been buy tickets for 5 draws.Good luck,Jake

Megamillions at 88 million
I was expecting the Mega Millions lottery to have set some new records by now. It is close though with the $88 million jackpot after 9 rolls. The current record is $90 million for Mega Millions after 9 rolls. The Powerball record is $86.3 million.Good luck,Jake

Added State Lottery Report Card
Well, let me just state for the record here that Lottery Post intends to be the source of record for this data, so I don't put anything up unless it's been cross-verified. Just so there's no question about the integrity of the data. The Montana Lottery told me.

Mega Millions or Powerball?
Powerball will never get rid of their match 5 bonus pool rule because they said it would discourage players from playing, since according to them, some players play only when there is a record, and if they made a record at $700 million, they'd miss out on records at $400 million, $500 million, etc.

Your CD
Congratulations! You just won the lottery. After you get your financial and personal lives settled, you decide you want to record an album. You contact a record company that specializes in the music you want to sing and they offer you a contract. You take it. What type of music is it?Also, please explain and name an artist or two that would be similar so we can all have an idea of what you're talking about.

how are they going to draw the new mega
Quote: Originally posted by dvdiva on April 29, 2005I think if they went with computerized drawings they would loose out on the big marketing potential of having live drawings for record jackpots. They could have celebrities draw balls live on tv at some famous location to draw more attention to the game for record jackpots. If it's a computer drawing then no big potential marketing push. The whole point of these games should be to generate money for the states that participate.Excellent point!

Powerball's Match 5 Bonus Pool Rule
They limit rollovers to $25 million each if the jackpot gets to be $25 million over the previous record (currently, the qualifying jackpot is $340 million). The excess cash gets placed in a Match 5 bonus pool, which is distributed among all the $100,000 winners when the record jackpot is finally won.

GA's Oldest Triples
You are absolutely right, Justin. Thanks for opening my eyes. I had no idea.I finally got around to checking some other states this morning. Got as far as Indiana, and here's what I'm showing:AR 353CA 444CT 373DC 632DE 481FL 423ID 415IL 620IN 431Btw, GA's current skips are 290, 36 short of her record. But after seeing the above figures, I sure won't be betting the house that Georgia's record will once again remain unbroken this time!

Too many players winning Powerball, lottery says
I agree with prof McCullough. We might have 20 jackpot wins this year. Yet, changing the matrix might not be necessary. A random game like Powerball, with it's current matrix, might begin a record setting jackpot run at any time. Conversely, it might have a series of frequent jackpot hits as we have recently been experiencing. It's all random and this summer we might also be discussing the Powerball record breaking jackpot that has just been set.
