TODAY'S POLL: Scenarios of remaining anonymous
I pick choice A based upon the poll question. I like to remain anonymous without having a sales tax.

Police foil alleged plot to kidnap lottery winners
It's stories like this that will make it easier to stay anonymous after a win. It's only a matter of time before a lottery winner gets killed and a winner who warns the lottery that they might be in danger could win twice. Or their heirs at least. Yet another reason to stay anonymous after a win. Better to have a trust as the winner and pay a lawyer to collect the check (better be safe on that one though).

Would you travel to an "anonymous" state JUST to buy lottery tickets?
It seems as if more people would rather play the lottery in their home state, regardless of whether or not the winner could remain anonymous.

The official state lottery web site in your state should have a link to a gambler's anonymous service or helpline in your state.

What if?
My question is, can a person stay anonymous on LP? Or can they be tracked? Can the forum owner track IP's? If they can truly stay anonymous, I wouldn't think they were an idiot or flaunting it if they told. I'd be a bit jealous, but also very happy for an LP member who won. I'd probably want to beg for money, but I wouldn't. I'd love to read their blog detailing the trials and tribulations of being fabulously wealthy.

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
Maybe get the lottery officials to see the benefits of jackpot and 2nd prize winners remaining anonymous. For the lottery officials there is absolutely zero benefit to letting winners remain anonymous other than a few grateful winners.

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
There's a post here on the board about someone in Oklahoma who won a few months ago (Powerball?) and remained anonymous. A very generic press release was put out about how the winner declined to hold a press conference but encouraged everyone to play because they too might win. Rundown99 made the point about if you want to be anonymous, play in a state that allows it. Now I'm wondering if you played in one of those states, if you'd have to disclose anything publicly in your home sta
