Quick picks
Funny, I had the opposite theory. I always went a little out of my way to go to the crowded stores in the wealthy areas since I would see people buying 10 and 20 tickets at a time. So I figured more were being sold, increasing my chances. But I agree it's a crapshoot and we never know when or where that lucky ticket will be printed. Since I won a little last night, I bought a couple of QPs tonight and got nothing. From now on, I think I'll stick to my budget and just play the cards I walk i

Couple hits lottery bigger than thought
That's a riot - disgusting, but funny nonetheless! Maybe it's the only way my numbers will finally come out and help me move!

what type of pet would you buy if you hit a jackpot?
LottoMike, very funny pic. I personally wouldn't want a pet after winning a major jackpot.. More stress. For example what if my dog bites a person, he may sue me for part of my jackpot. lol........ I may help or donate funds to help unwanted pets.

what type of pet would you buy if you hit a jackpot?

Which Win do you prefer
I know Pac is just being sarcastically funny...hell, you would just have to be some old crazy nut to not claim a winning QP or any pick for that matter. But as for the purchasing of tickets already printed out that someone else couldn't or wouldn't pay for, I would consider them wholly mine once my dollar(s) hit the cashier's hand and I had the ticket in my possession. Nobody owns any of the numbers in the range of play...if that were the case, lotteries wouldn't exist since they would be figh

Power outage has California lottery running on back-up generators
Funny, but the California Lottery gaming system is run out of GTECH's National Data Center in Austin, TX. I don't even know if they televise the SL+ draw any more...but in any case they don't do that out of thew HQ building. The only major system running at the Lottery HQ is their internal control system (ICS). Still, highly unusual for power to be out that long. Wouild have thought that the State would have some kind of agreement with PG E (or SMUD) for priority restoration of service.

Tennessee Lottery glitch parade marches on
tnlotto1, I am not computer savvy enough to make a technical comment, but I think it's funny that so many people today use the excuse computer error. I wish the error was in the consumer's favor, but it usually is not! I hope the world as we know it doesn't blow up because of a computer error. Good luck. It's not so far away now. (the drawing, that is, not the end of the world)

Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
I hope you realize that the cash value is calculated first, then the annuity value is calculated based off the amount of cash. Powerball's cash option is what it is for a REASON. Just because Mega Millions' cash value is a higher percentage of the annuity value, doesn't mean Powerball's cash value can be classified as pathetic . Powerball allows a higher annuity value with less cash than Mega Millions. THAT is why Powerball's cash value is a lower percentage than Mega Millions'. I find it funny

LP "Ponderables"
Funny, BobP. Sounds like the name of a horror flick. ..and what about the people who join to post I just won a jackpot and then disappear? I suppose it's possible that a person might get so excited that he/she surfed the net to find a lottery board to share the joy and excitement. However, we never see a copy of the winning ticket.
