win $1 million per day
Megamillions should counter Powerball's move by increasing the number of megaballs to make the jackpot harder to win, and decreasing the number of white balls to make it easier to win the million dollar prize. The frenzy created by the higher jackpots would more than pay for an extra 50 million dollar prizes each year - and probably even more.
I honestly can't remember the last time a million dollar ticket was sold in my state. Is there a compiled list showing winner's states for each drawing

Powerball to increase to three drawings a week
But the reason PB added another drawing should be obvious after reading the Lucky for Life April 26 announcement. Another factor is in some states PB is favored over MM and contributing to why PB sales for equal size jackpots are slightly higher.
Have no idea why making I won't play remarks are necessary, but it's business as usual.

Powerball to increase to three drawings a week
Multi-state jackpots are paid by all the states collectively. A percentage of every ticket sold goes toward the jackpot in each state. When someone wins the jackpot, all the states send their share to the state lottery that sold the ticket, and that state then pays out the winner once it's all collected. (That's why it can take a couple of weeks to get the check.)
On the other hand, all non-jackpot prizes are paid 100% by the state that sold the winning ticket. So if someone from South Dakota

NC Cash 5
Yes, Charloot, you are very right that large jackpots often produce multiple winners. It wouldnt bother me to split, 2 or even more ways, something. Not that my lottery assessments are spectacular, but if they assist someone's win, I'd be very happy. I really want to read a story where someone looked, analyzed and won. I don't care if it were through reading some rant by me. I cannot play every combo out there, there's tons of jackpots to be won, and if I assist someone, all I did was plant the

Tennessee man misplaces his million-dollar lottery ticket, then finds it lying in a parking lot
OMG, you have put just too much thought into this scenario. I think YOU have forgotten the rules of the lottery. It does NOT matter how I would have acquire the ticket because as long at the back of the ticket is NOT signed, it belongs to whoever found it...No fraud or perjury involved. This is why the lottery commission and lawyers always say, sign your ticket . I have no obligation to the lottery to tell them how I came about the ticket. All they ever ask is how did you come up the winning num

Idaho ends Powerball in state, fearing foreign participation
Was there any news about this? Huge surprise!
That would be like 3 Californias joining with 30 million in Aus and 60 million in UK.
You're gonna see those jackpots grow a lot faster.
If that wire act is repealed Americans might be able to buy in UK and be anonymous regardless of where they live - let that sink in.

Name ONE Lottery rule you would love to see abolished...
My problem with TX is the jackpots don't match up to the odds. Ie: Odds are too long for the jackpot in Lotto and Cash 5.
Rule change. Increase jackpot sizes.
(Yeah...THAT ain't happenin'.)

New Michigan bill would allow multi-state lottery winners to remain anonymous
All the lotto type jackpots were paid by annuities and the winners, even though they had to sue, were finally given tax exemptions on their remaining payments.
Oh My God! What am I doing, what if I win?
and the fact lotteries don't hand out $1 billion in cash to the winner won't stop would be thieves. Large jackpot winners will never have total anonymity, but not posting their identities gives them a head start.

Lucky player beats unimaginable odds and takes home two massive lottery prizes
By Kate Northrop
There have been several instances of players winning the lottery twice, but in an absolutely mindboggling happenstance, an Idaho woman is giving those winners a run for their money after securing two six-figure jackpots back-to-back in just two days.
Orlene Peterson is redefining what it means to be lucky after winning two top prizes from two different stores in two consecutive days. Not only

One Michigan lottery ticket wins $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot
Michigan was one of the original founding members of Mega Millions, which was called The Big Game at the time.
Just curious?... Where did you get that erroneous info from..? While it's true that MM originally started as The Big Game .. it was started in Atlanta,Georgia..!! and I don't remember the cause having involved ANY Northern States, for the reason explained was that Southern States and players were feed up with always resulting in the Powerball jackpots being won in Northern Sta
