My opinion: Beating the world's #1 chess player does not require predicting random moves. It requires great speed from the computer, which allows it to compute many possible moves and eliminate those that would not be assistive in gaining a victory, within well-defined rules.Predicting (and actually hitting) winning lottery numbers requires predicting a great deal of randomness. Want to know the first thing I'd do? Look to get rid of the computerized drawings! Personally, I think the excitement generated by the media event of regular drawings, conducted in a roadshow around the state would make things really click for the state (or any state, for that matter). I think lotteries these days think about cutting costs as the best way to raise more money for the state, rather than focusing on the revenue side of the equation.I guess I'd have to compete with Dawn Nettles (T

That's why I wanted to put this poll question in event that PB does go to a 5/55+1/42 format. This question will be a test to see what was the first jackpot of the new matrix. When MM was doing the 5/56+1/46 format, the first draw was 42 million.

The Mega Millions group has said on numerous occasions that they will not let any new states join. CT would've been stuck with Classic Lotto, although I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be classic anymore if such an event happened.

Pepsi would not have been responsible for the $1,000,000,000 prize. There are not that dumb. What companies do is purchase insurance from a company. They purchase a policy for x amount of dollars and in case of the event that there was a winner the insurance company would have to cover it. Brad

Lottery companies know people are working on systems and methods. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a contigency plan in the event of a truly powerful prediction system coming to light. They would simply develop a means of drawing numbers to defeat it.
