Poll: Michigan Mega Millions
Sure it would reduce sales of the in-state games. How does that make it the right decision? They certainly didn't increase ticket sales by not adding a multi-state game with high jackpots, and their job is to sell tickets and turn a profit. It's not part of their job, but by not adding a multi-state game they've limited the chances for FL residients to win those large jackpots, too.

winning millions on jackpots, state lottery responsibility
should state lotteries have programs or seminars to prepare jackpot winners for their new life so they can properly prepare and not make mistakes or be taken advantage of? to make sure they can deal with the scores of people who ask for money, how to deal with people wanting them to invest, how to make sure they don't go broke quickly, etc.

Having higher payouts and jackpots then predicted is not unusual because until the jackpot is won and all sales figures are in the predicted jackpot is a guess at best and most lotteries will state that somewhere on their websites. That has happened in both PowerBall and MegaMillions and some state lotteries before. Texas got in trouble a couple of years ago posting higher jackpots then they could pay so most states prefer to post a conservative figure to avoid the problem.

powerball draws being computerized
I hope not.Its hard enough to win now,if its computerized I wouldn't trust it.Powerball wants to have larger jackpots to make the game more exciting. With computerization they could manipulate the outcome so that nobody wins and they would get those larger jackpots.I think it would ruin the game.

Powerball Won Again?!?!
Both Powerball and Mega Millions have been won quite a bit this year. So far, eleven Mega Millions jackpots have been awarded and thirteen Powerball jackpots have been awarded, which is only two away from a record.

Lotteries jackpots aren't based on the amount of money states have other than that generated by lottery tickets sales. Most states with a $40M+ lottery jackpots usually generate enough ticket sales to add more than $500K to the jackpot when it rolls and still keep 50% of sales for themselves. Some states like to keep a little more, maybe Indiana is one of those states. With the largest jackpot in the area there are probably plenty of players from out of state playing too so ticket sales shoul

What are the ODDS! 2 Jackpot Wins 2 Miles Apart!
This is the kind of story that the QP disciples who preach system players are wasting their time picking their own numbers need to read more. There are players out there picking their own numbers that are winning good prizes even if they're not the jackpots. It could be players with good systems aren't winning the jackpots more than QP players but they are getting close more often than the average QP players.

question about the jackpots...
If you played all the same numbers on one ticket, the only difference between lines being the pb or mb, and you won.... how would they pay you?
