Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
Where is written that we have to PROVE our playing strategy to anyone .
it's called the universal code of integrity...
.... where if you make a qualifying veined statement about ability , in an ability vs ability thread, then the integrity code kicks in, and implores you to answer your own claim.
of course you don't have to , but then that automatically strips your claims as being valid, and places in truth limbo land until you can prove it .
anyone can claim anything is true , and

Ex-friends square off in trial over $1M lottery ticket
A western Maryland man testified Monday that he gave his neighbor $20 to buy them a state lottery ticket that ended up a $1 million winner.
But the neighbor claims his former hunting buddy is a desperate, dishonest barfly who concocted the story after learning of his friend's good fortune.
A judge has frozen $500,000 of the winnings until a Washington County Circuit Court jury decides this week whether Brian S. Kendle, a 38-year-old Roto-Rooter operator, bought the Countdown to Millions

N.C. Lottery fraud trial: E-mail disclosure has witness in tears
An office manager for former state lottery commissioner Kevin L. Geddings broke down in tears on the witness stand Tuesday when she was asked to read for jurors an e-mail message that Geddings had sent her last year.
The message directed Cheri Moore Pfisterer of Charlotte to not disclose that lottery vendor Scientific Games was a client of Geddings' public-relations firm.
Geddings sent the message four days after House Speaker Jim Black appointed him to the lottery commission.
Pls neve

Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
I guess it just depends upon what news source you read/listen to as to how much money he donated to whom. I saw one Republican Congresswoman interviewed on The FOX Business Channel say - It appears as if FTX was a gigantic embezzlement machine funneling money to The Democratic Party. But who really knows who got how much of the money SBF donated?
As for me personally, I don't care so much about SBF donating money to anybody. I'm far more interested in the criminal aspects of the case. I've

The Gambler's Fallacy
Suppose you tossed a coin and got 8 consecutive tails. What would be the probability of getting a tail the next time? Answer: 0.5. Just as in all the other tosses. The fact that you have gotten 8 tails in a row does NOT mean that you are due for a head. Before you start tossing the coin, however, the probability of getting 8 tails in a row is VERY small. It won't happen very often. Once it HAS happened, though, the prob

Versabet34 - Anyone Still Use it?
Yes that is correct.
The early version of Versabet34 was Lotto Mangaer (VersaBet) which was a DOS based program.
https://web.archive.org/web/20120117114545/http://www.versabet.com/
I think Lucky was a frequent poster at the forum.
Joe really created some nice lottery programs.
The Intelli-Bet trial version can still be downloaded.
The other trial programs are also available.

Longtime Mass Lottery employee fired for allegedly cashing unsold winning scratch tickets
Perfect example of Stupid is as stupid does .
Who in their right mind is willing to trade a $100,000 a year job for a scratch off worth maybe $50?
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. (He isn't guilty until his guilt is proved in a court of law) And let's suppose he didn't steal any returned winners, and that he simply went into a store and bought a winning $50 scratch off. And yet he was willing to risk his $100,000 a year job by being seen cashing it for a lousy 50 bucks???
He'd

Why! is Marie Holmes wasting her money, baby I'm here, hehe
Marie Holmes made national headlines last February after winning a massive $188 million Powerball jackpot. After taxes, she walked away with an $88 million lump sum payment. Despite coming into a substantial amount of wealth, her boyfriend Lamarr McDow can t seem to live his life right by the law and has been in and out of jail.
Lamarr was able to post a $3 million bond back in March (thanks to his girl, no doubt) after going to jail for heroin charges.
He was re-arrested during a raid in

Do some number combinations have better odds?
I also don't remember the actual proper test for this.... it's more complicated than the one you use if negatives are possible. I don't really want to go through and do a lot of work for this, so I'm going to use very rough estimates rather than take a couple hours to go through the formulas relevant to this type of test....
Well the mean is 700/(1/(5/56)), which simplifies to 62.5. The variance is approximately 1/(5/56) or 11.2. (I use an approximate b/c doing the math with every po

What a super ugly lookin set of numbers.
I've been tracking T5 closely since April of 2009. Since then, I've seen it go through short periods of time where some weird looking numbers pop out, but then it goes back to normal.
T5 seems to me to be in a longer than usual period of time when ugly looking lines come out. Nobody won the JP last night, but I suspect that's because ticket sales were down due to the holiday, and not enough 5 number combos were sold to produce a J
