Do statistics trump all other forms of math where lotteries are concerned?
Dozens, maybe hundreds of members on this site have devoted years and decades to studying lotteries and approaches to winning against them. Most evidently believe they've learned something in the process and some are sharing what they believe they've learned on this forum, the Lottery Systems Forum, the Pick 5 Forum, the Jackpots Forum, the Pick 3 Forum and possibly elsewhere.
The general methods they've developed fall into several distinct categories, some involving statistics, some involvi

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
Mayhem: Thanks for the reply.
I didn't intend to suggest a random number of balls or numbers must be drawn within a random matrix for probability theory to be expected to apply if probability theory applies at all. If that were the case your post would reveal a basic flaw in all lottery systems overlooked when they were designing their systems.
The statement, even though the past isn't influencing future draws directly, it does help to view the past to see what is statistically relevant to

Whats good or bad about "Qiuck Picks"
garyo1954, RJOh,
It was stated that the totals included shared jackpots.
In case you missed it:
Including 2010, three years combined:
1096 drawings (2008 was a leap year)
453 Jackpots paid
383 QP 84.54%
243 PP 53.6%
This includes shared jackpots.
In other words, if a QP and a PP split a jackpot it would appear as 1 QP and 1 PP for the same jackpot, that's why it totals to over 100%.
Might be nice if you thought something out before you try to make someone else app

RE: Quick Review of OP's Question
For any ball drawn, isn't the probability of it being even or odd the same?
Is this tendency explained by the small probablility increase that the next ball will be odd if the previous balls drawn are even?
Jimmy, these are the two questions posed for discussion in (this) stef's thread. You have missed that point.
Now you might convince someone you have proven a correlation between reality and adverse co

Active Topics - Programming
Hi,
Just for arguments sake consider this...
1) What if all the elements needed to play the lottery profitably are already in the LP archive and it is just a data manipulation/programming problem to get there. How many more ways are there to analyze the lottery than have been presented at the LP?
2) What if the ideal new idea ends up being a programming idea?
3) RJOH, I know you program....wouldn't it be nice to see program snippets that would help you in your anaylysis. And thin
