Jackpot-fixing investigation expands to more state lotteries
The allegations read like a movie plot: a lottery industry insider installs an undetectable software program in the computers that pick winning numbers so he can know them in advance. He enlists accomplices to play those numbers and collect the jackpots. And they enrich themselves for years until a misstep unravels their high-tech scheme.
Eddie Tipton, former security director of the Multi-State Lottery Association, has been accused of tampering with drawings in four states over a six-year pe

Deal struck, Illinois Lottery winners to be paid
Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and House Democrats on Wednesday struck a rare agreement, compromising on a plan to release more than $3.1 billion to pay Illinois Lottery winners and help cities and towns operate 911 centers, plow roads and train firefighters.
Normally, municipalities receive a share of gas tax, 911 surcharge and gambling revenue to help prop up day-to-day operations, but those dollars have been on hold due to the state budget impasse. Legislation passed 107-1 by the House would

Illinois lottery winners file class-action lawsuit against state
Includes video report
Rhonda Rasche had a great plan for the $50,000 she won from a scratch-off Illinois Lottery ticket.

She never made that trip. Instead, Rasche became one of two plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit file
