Kentucky man goes into "full panic mode" after winning $250,000 in the lottery
I've noticed that most stories about big winners are from scratch-off tickets. Few big winner stories are from Powerball or Megamillions.
Of course, I'm not surprised. I've done the math and concluded that scratch-off tickets are a better deal than PB/MM, but there are people on this forum convinced otherwise. They think that $846 million is somehow better than $250,000 or $1 million or whatever despite the ridiculous odds of winning $846 million.
Would you rather have a realistic chance

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Powerball catching up nicely.
Now well more than half the Maggie Millions.
It's been creeping along like a super slug for sure.
One or two more draws, aye? To reach that Billion Dollar Barrier.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I am astounded that you played the same numbers for twenty years. I am impressed by your persistence and patience. I am actually curious. Did you play the same numbers for Powerball, Mega Millions, and the other lotteries in your state? I would think that those numbers would eventually at least come close to win a smaller prize in one of those games over that length of time.
Yes Sir! Same numbers every week. Most I hit was 3 numbers a couple weeks ago. Won 30 bucks.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Mega millions increased 89 million from Friday to Friday. That's an average rollover of 45 million per draw.
Powerball increased 69.5 million from Saturday to Saturday. That's an average rollover of 23 million per draw.
Mega millions is growing faster than PB. But both have seen an uptick in ticket sales. Mega millions took a much higher amount for casual players to get on-board. Mega millions appears to be too hard to win largely due to lower ticket sales at a higher price point.

Michigan woman wins $100,000 Powerball prize from lottery numbers picked by ChatGPT
My prompt: Pick 5 random numbers between 1 and 69.
It gives me the numbers, and interestingly, it follows up with:
Would you like me to include a separate Powerball number (between 1 and 26) too?

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
Just checked out The NY Lottery's winners page. There are winners listed of both Mega Millions and PowerBall 1/2 million dollar second place prizes. Some had the winners name listed as well as their photo. Others had just the winners name but no photo of them.
The question I have is it mandatory for those second place winners to have at least their names appear? One very recent PB winner claimed two million with an LLC, so there was no picture. I clicked on a few of them, but there was no m

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Good point! I never looked at it that way. For $30, I could play $5 on 6 draws when MM is $700 million and grows to over $2 Billion. The problem I have is that it's just 1 ticket (1 Line) that I get for $5 each time. But for $30, I could play 1 PB ticket for 15 drawings. Also for Powerball, I could get 15 tickets on that drawing for that same $30.00 versus only 6 tickets for Mega Millions.
Honestly, I wish the tickets were still just $1. Even despite inflation, the lotteries would still make

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
If the Mega Millions jackpot rolls four more times, it will break the 36 roll record for Mega Millions.
The odds the jackpot is won in the next draw is about 3.3%. Lets say the odds for each of the next fours draws averages out to 3.5%, then the odds the jackpot rolls at least 4 more times is about 87%.
The Powerball record is 41 rolls.

Missouri Lottery discontinues Lotto, introduces new MO Millions draw game
When does the mania or fever start now for MegaMillions and Powerball? Can't we put a number on it or is it different every time?
I can remember when 100 mil was the mark.
