Virginia Mega Millions $348 million lottery winner plans to buy lawnmower with record prize
@Tucker Black
I do agree with you on the interest. The winner gets all the interest and that is why the amount being paid out after the 30 years is way more than the cash at hand/bank today.
What I like about the lump sum is that the money is invested in very safe government bonds. If the US government bonds fail, then the economy is all failed, doesn't matter where your money is, there would be a ripple effect.
If I won the jackpot today, I would put all the money in government bond

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
From the week of 03/23-29/2025 until now 06/08-14/2025 my savings for a future monster sized Powerball cash value jackpot is:
Mega Millions: $125.00 saved (currently at $10.00 per drawing)
Powerball: $66.00 saved (still at $2.00 per drawing)
Total saved: $191.00 or 95 future $2.00 Powerball tickets and a dollar left over for something cheap.
I have no idea how high this savings plan will reach until I commit to a purchase for a monster Powerball cash value jackpot, but that is wh

Mega Millions
I always thought it was the actual amount of all tickets sold.
That is where they get the cash from, right?
I also find it as deceiving people to an extent.
The first jackpot over $1 billion was PB's $1.586 billion annuity in January 2016, and the actual cash prize was $983.5 million. In October 2023 PB advertised a jackpot as an estimated $1.73 billion. That sounds almost 10% bigger, but the actual cash jackpot of $774.1 million was 21% less than the 2016 jackpot. Imagine a privat

I need the experts to help me here.
I totally agree with you on this statement
how much a coffee jar investment fund would be worth and the final number was shocking.
Yes, the amount could be a lot, but sometimes we forget that this life is meant to be lived now.
It's unfortunate that so many people get trapped in the future.
Everything we do is for a certain time in the future. A future that is not guaranteed.
One never knows how long they will live, some die at 20 others at 40 and others at 90.
I don't

$944 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot set to make holiday wishes come true
Well, first,..
The discussion is on THIS web site. The top 25 list I talked about is a list this website puts out and it covers the Major US lotteries.. PB and MM
Secondly, No other lottery I know of has anywhere near teh number of pre tax cash value prizes in the top 25 compared to MM and PB
The Spanish elGordo is a raffle' with a winning ticket worth 4 million euros per first division ticket (That's the full ticket, not the usual tenth ticket most people buy).. (Total prize pool i

$825 MILLION: Massive Mega Millions drawing set for Friday
i do not see any value in the ranking of annuities.
The only possible point I can see is to make it even more obvious when the annuity is even more misleading than usual. This one is $2.5 million less than the next biggest cash prize, but it's being advertised as $237 million more. There's no way that would be legal if a private company was doing it.
the last time we had 4 in a row
I don't know when, or if, it happened before but with the current matrix the chances are about 1 in 1

Maddogs POWERBALL Challenge 11/15
Wow! My new white ball predictor got another 2W out of 5 prediction. Two 2W hits out of two draw tests. 0.14% chance of that happening by uniform random selection chance. The predictor is actually five separate one white ball predictors, and the same one white ball predictor got a hit two draws in a row. This is just an interum predictor since I haven't completed the parameter search. so the overall 5 white ball predictor could improve.
Very encouraged by this class of predictor. It's been a

I will change the way I buy Cash4life tickets.
First and foremost congratulations on the thought that one could hit second tier prize on two consecutive days. Not that it can't happen, but good Lord that would be awesome luck.
Having said that, I don't know if they can pay a multi draw win on the same ticket as different options. Maybe it's possible.
However what I would do is play the 3 sets of multi draws (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) on 3 separate tickets.
Example .
Ticket 1 - 1-2-3-4-5 (6) - multi draw Friday, Saturday an

$1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in California
I see that many of us share similar strategies regarding the amt of tickets we purchase as it pertains to MM and PB.
We buy our tickets ( 1 w/ pp or mp ) per every 100 mil based on the annuity but, that gets expensive and even embarrassing when the jackpot gets over say 500 mil
I try to convince my fellow partners in crime ie family, to no avail, that we should base it on the cash value instead.
If we only knew how much $$$ we've spent on that elusive jackpot dream we could have fin
