Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Oh, what could have been...
Mega Millions would have been on average around $2.296 Billion given the same number of rollovers.
Powerball would have been in the Exosphere at around $58 Billion heading to $85 Billion.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I'm running through some $2.00 before and $5.00 after, in addition to, a Powerball comparison of Jackpot growths.
Early results are supportive of people not buying the faster and quicker growing jackpots.
I'll post later today.
I have to format the graphs for your viewing pleasure.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The buying frenzy for Powerball spilled over to Mega Millions.
I suppose it would be foolish to guess at the logic of people buying lottery tickets, but I don't think it makes any sense to buy a $5 MM ticket just because you're at the store and decided to take a chance on a PB ticket. OTOH, I think it's fairly likely that the people who are basically non-players that decide to take a chance when it's 1 billion + could buy a ticket for the wrong game. At $5 a pop it only takes 3 million tick

MADDOGS MEGA MILLIONS Challenge 10/3
I had two challenge picks. The other was a 5+0 challenge win. Figures I'd choose the wrong one to post. The 5-pick (derived from 12-pick) was a 3+0 win. Did not play in real life.
Heart ache at all the close challenge wins I've had this year. Had a powerball challenge pick last week that was very close to a 5+0 challenge win. Correct ranking picks, correct center on one ranking, the other ranking center was off.

MM $5, PB $2, Powerplay $1I
I find your perspective interesting because it is completely opposite to mine.
I like the pool I joined because they do not play power play for the Powerball game. Since the pool is going to divide the winnings among all the members of the pool, I want the pool to only spend money on the largest prize possible.
It is different for Mega Millions. We do not have a choice. The multiplier is built in.
Why do you want the power play included in the pool?

Would be hilarious if Powerball overtook Mega Millions. I don't think it likely but crazier stuff has happened.
On an unrelated note, California Super Lotto Plus has been rolling for 5 months now at drawings for over 20 weeks. I don't know what the record is for most rolls for California Super Lotto but it would be nice if the jackpot was finally won.
Most I have won through this run so far was $11 when I matched two number plus the super number.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I bought a bunch of Powerball tickets for the last drawing when the annuity jackpot was $2 billion. I normally don't play that game because the odds of winning are approximately zero. For the same price, I can get far better odds of winning less money but still life changing money. I was willing to try it because it would be fun to spend $600 million in today's money after tax.
For Megamillions, the equivalent annuity jackpot would have to be $5 billion for me to play (even then, maybe not,

Missouri on some BS.
I guess because we had a Powerball winner.
The other games have to pay for it, lol.

Virginia woman wins $150,000 Powerball lottery prize using ChatGPT, donates entire prize
It gives me numbers. You have to set the parameters with specific tiered criteria. The numbers when I tried it were not great. I do better picking my own numbers with my own system..
When chatgpt tells you no, say please provide the random powerball numbers per my criteria. It will then provide numbers and say it is for entertainment purposes only.
But you need to specify criteria first.
