Two winners to share record A$106 million Australian lottery
A couple from Queensland state and a man from South Australia will share more than A$106 million (US$86 million) as the only jackpot winners in the nation's record lottery drawn last night. Holders of the winning Oz Lotto entries, who asked to remain anonymous, will each take about A$53 million in the second-largest single payouts in Australian lottery history. The previous record jackpot of A$58.7 million was won on a single ticket last year. The first division prize pool, created after 1

Did you know? New BONUS for missing a record Powerball jackpot by only the powerball.
I saw this on the Powerball website today and it's the first I've seen of it. It's a new rule that basically says that the Powerball jackpot can't increase by more than $25 million each draw once it hits record levels, so if the powerball jackpot does that, the extra prize money will go into a poll that will be split by all the 5 white ball winners on the day the jackpot is won. So, it's like, CRAP, the record jackpot got won today. I know I won my $200,000, but I chose the wrong Powerball. O

$170 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised
The current record is $390 million for the annuity, which worked out to about $233 million in cash. If it rolls until Christmas, figuring a bit conservatively I'd imagine something along these lines: 170 200 235 275 325 on 12/23 Right now the cash value is nearly 69% of the annuity value, and that's been creeping up with each new drawing. Since they only advertise the annuity value MM couldn't claim a new record, but assuming the cash value reaches an even 70% it would beat the

Georgia Lottery had record sales
A struggling economy hasn't kept Georgians from buying lottery tickets. The Georgia Lottery announced Tuesday that sales for fiscal 2008, which ended June 30, were just under $3.52 billion, a record in the 15-year history of the games. That's more than $97.6 million ahead of last year's record sales. The Georgia Lottery transferred $858 million of that to the state for education programs, surpassing last year's record transfer by more than $4.8 million. Lottery proceeds pay for t

$370 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
The Mega Millions Jackpot has broken an all-time, worldwide record. It now stands at $370 million and tickets are selling at an amazing rate. New Jersey officials report Mega Millions tickets are selling in that state at a rate of 700,000 tickets per hour, and that won't even match what they expect during rush hour. Officials say early evening is when they sell the most tickets, and that's when they expect to hit 1.2 million ticket sales per hour. Sales close at all locations at 10:45 pm.

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
If the jackpots don't get quite as high it's because MORE STATES ARE PLAYING and PEOPLE ARE WINNING JACKPOTS MORE OFTEN. That isn't how it works. How often the jackpots are won is and always will be a function of the odds, but probability is only a trend and there will be variations on both sides of the norm. The more people play the more money goes into the prize pool and the higher the jackpots get. More people playing means more winners, but it also means more money for prizes at the s

The Predictor's League (develop, test & demonstrate your abilities then let us verify your results)
Yeah, we all have to start somewhere. I encourage creating your own strategies as opposed to being given a strategy because you really discover why for what you are doing. Even to join the league you have to put in work over time. Most people give up when the work is long, hard and especially, when they don't see progress happening. But winning on a regular basis is process that can't be rushed. The majority will quit before they see progress because it isn't coming fast enough for them. Don't b

Lotteries hit record profits last year
Lottery sales are strong, but there are points of weakness By Todd Northrop Government-sponsored lotteries are continuing their broad expansion as income-producing entities, as many lotteries reported record profits in the last fiscal year. Reports of record profits from the lotteries come despite continuing high unemployment and an economy that has been flat or downward-trending for the past two years. Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich says he believes the lottery does well in a bad econo
