Wisconsin MegaBucks $$
I just finished reading about your 6/49 game ... looks very interesting and a great cash jackpot. Perhaps some of you have read some of my posts on the PA Match 6 (6/49) game. It struggles to get to $2 million and beyond these days ... used to hover around $4 million and a few times around $6 to 8 million. Never get those size jackpots in PA ... I wonder why they have an annuity jackpot part ... just work with a cash jackpot only, which most people probably would take over the 25 years deal .

Powerball is kicking it up-10 millionaires were made tonight!!.
Most lotteries gloss over the estimated part. Sure, many mention estimate , but all too often, not. Sometimes there's an asterisk somewhere, but with little to no indication what it's in regards to. NJ Lottery is a prime example: Next Jackpot* Saturday 01/31/15 $289 MILLION Cash Option $189.4 Million . And that's assuming they even bother with that. Sometimes the Powerball / Mega Million jackpots is advertised as if the value is the value with no mention to the contrary. CA Lottery is a prime ex

What would you do if some stranger hands you a jackpot ticket?
What do you supose would happen if the IRS knew that you gave somebody a $10 million house as a birthday present? Do you think it would be any different than cash or any other gift worth $10 million? As TTech noted, it's all about the value of the gift. Most of the time, if you give somebody a lottery ticket as a gift the IRS is probably willing to consider that at the time you made the gift the ticket's value was only it's cost. OTOH, if you buy a MM ticket for the 12/24 drawing this year (w

I did not know that if you win 2nd place in the powerball drawing it is not really 1 million you win
The PB 2nd-9th prizes are fixed cash prizes, not annuitized.(and only in rare cases pari-mutuel) I'm sure you misunderstood what was written on the website. Keep in mind, the 22yr old tekkie writing these articles is not the most expert in exact lottery and financial terminology, they got their script and just duplicate the marketing message. Do you have a link or a quote? I just quickly persused the MA site, and saw this, is this it: May 29, 2013 Congratulations to Catherine Moriarty
