POWERBALL CREATES WORLD'S FIRST BILLION-DOLLAR JACKPOT
Yeah, but the other side of the coin... few are going to buy a MM ticket for awhile @ 15M And once this JP is won... lotto fever (increased sales) isn't going to happen until the JP nears 1 Billion again. Remember when folks got excited when a JP hit 200 or 300 Million? So they better be making billion $ jackpots regularly or players will see (again) another matrix change

I think that powerball has crossed the line what do you think?
You forget that PB made the changes because sales were way down because.........someone was winning too often therefore jackpots were not growing high enough. Geez dude, ya just can't have it both ways. You realize there were 28 second prize winners last night. There goes the sorry argument that there should be multiple winners of a million dollars. Don't you think they're kinda happy? I would be. If ya don't like the way it's set up, no one is forcing you to drop a measly $2 for a chance

UK National Lottery - Any of you guys win anything?
Not played in a while due to terrible jackpots but thought it was my lucky day with the huge 66m jackpot and......... not a single matching number! Still kind of annoyed how they raised the price from 1 to 2 a ticket....... The EuroMillions is getting up there so maybe I will try my luck on that - 51Million How did my fellow UK players do?

$800 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot approaches billion-dollar range
Out of curiosity: Have any of the past mega jackpot winning tickets also included the multiplier feature? (eg: $2 powerball w/$1 power-up; $1 mega millions w/$1 megaplier)? I know that the jackpot is not multiplied, but wondered if this was ever the case. I always purchase the multiplier feature so want to know if I'm cancelling myself out by doing this when the jackpots get this big. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks.

$700 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot raised just hours after initial estimate
Point taken Teddi, but l will summit to you that there has been quite a few 2-3 way splits involving massive jackpots and those folks turned out just fine...as far as we know. Edwards Holmes * sounds like a Law firm, are an exception and definitely not the rule. In any event considering that millions of people are attempting to win- getting a piece of the pie can't be too bad as opposed to getting none at all. Btw, how does one find this morally responsible person who ends up with $800 millio

$700 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot raised just hours after initial estimate
I have noticed that when another top 25 jackpot win is made then Andrew Jackson Jack Whitaker will be pushed out. Either MM or PB. Jack is at #25 West Virginia 315.million. David Lee Edwards was overtaken a few record jackpots ago. Back to this Record-Breaking jackpot. $700 million!!! I am sure that this upcoming exchange of posts between Todd, Terry Rich, and us lottery members will include a few words about this history making activity.

$675 MILLION: POWERBALL SETS ALL-TIME LOTTERY JACKPOT RECORD
@Todd Almost correct, some lotteries like Euromillions or Eurojackpot do have capped jackpots so they are not ever increasing variants of Lotteries. Forgot to quote...

Take5 NY
Here's a T5 fast fact that absolutely nobody cares about; On Sunday January 17th, Take5 will be 25 years old. Hard to believe it's been around for 25 years. Not too long ago, you could have won more than $100,000 on any given Friday nite. Are jackpots lower now because players have gotten tired of T5? Or are they lower because The NY Lottery takes a bigger cut of the take than they did back in the day?? My guess is they're taking more $$ than they ever did. G5

$334 MILLION: Powerball jackpot rolls into the new year
lol.....I think the days of fair bet jackpots are over..... Advertised annuity would be roughly $1.5 billion before the after-tax cash could be considered fair bet There was a paper written several years ago, forget the author, but he derived a constant for rollover jackpot games that determines the optimal prize/sales which maximizes the expectation for all players. For the new PB it is roughly when 1.1 billion tickets have been sold, or a cash jackpot around $745 million far beneath the
