Ball Drawers
My mind must be in the gutter lately, because I really wasn't quite certain what the topic was all about. Anyway, I agree about computerized drawings, but I'm not too sure if I'd lose any more than I'm already losing. Now if they could program it so anyone whose name begins with N has a better chance... Regarding the time it takes to draw the balls, I've actually had the same feeling, but I don't see how they can tell which one is going to be selected. In FL there are pre-tests which

Tenn. lawmakers want to force lottery to drop computer draws
Thats just great at a time when Tennesseans need his support and he might possibly take notice of these posts. I would think since you detest computerized drawings so much that you and all Tennesseans might want to convince the governor of that, instead you berate him publicly. Mike you have to remember ultimately it's the people that have the power but in order to get them to implement change you must stick together and act as one voice.

Editorial criticizes N.J. Lottery privatization proposal
Upside: a privatized Lottery probably can't be shut down when nj fails to produce a budget on time. Downside: whoever owns it or whatever might decide that computerized drawings are better for their bottom line or make other unwelcome changes like adding 50 more balls to the Pick-5 or increasing the takeout to 99 percent.

Outlook for online gambling in U.S. discussed at conference
They sure take a long time to do it, 18 months.. I support online gaming if it is legitimate. Hopefully in Second Life they will also allow playing poker. My fear though would be, what if computers were on the other end controlling what cards are drawn? These games surely are drawn from a computerized deck, am I right? Just as for many good reasons you don't like computerized drawings, why all of a sudden are we in favor of computerized poker? The only way to do it is if it's a fair game (the ho

Hoosier Lotto
The game went 84 draws without a winner on its previous record of $42M, and that was before the switch to computerized drawings. You can't say, Well, this year had this many winners, and this year had this many winners, but since no one has won in a year, that must mean the game is rigged . The previous record shows that it is not only mathematically possible, but also realistically possible for a lottery game to have periods of time without a winner that are much longer than other periods of t

Indiana lottery players still hunting year-old jackpot
I just am stunned, said Mike Krueger, a regular Hoosier Lotto player from Whiting. And a lot of other Lottery players and the people at the stores where I play are like, 'Why hasn't it been hit?' Is something wrong?' Hell yes somethings wrong! Its called computerized drawings!Indiana isn't going to let anyone hit the jackpot until they're damn good and ready. As long as the jackpot keeps growing there is a lot of interest and people are spending twice as much hoping to win it.If a priv

Updated Oct. 9, 2007, 12:58 am Lawmaker eyes legislation to get rid of computer draws 'The integrity of our lottery drawings has been compromised in the minds of lottery players.' One Tennessee state legislator could step into the latest Tennessee Lottery controversy, and solve it with one stroke of the pen. House Minority Leader Jason Mumpower is looking to introduce legislation that would rid the lottery of computerized drawings. He wants the drawings back to how they were, befo

Is the lottery shortchanging schools?
With regard to the Tennessee Lottery's figures, 100% of those figures are based upon revenues and contributions BEFORE the changeover to computerized drawings. State lotteries end their fiscal years in June, so the figures they are all quoting are based on revenues and contributions before July. Tennessee changed over in August. I will be interested to see what their first quarterly report looks like in October.

Suggestion for FL Lottery Writing Campaign
We have all been alarmed by Florida asking about computerized drawings, so I have a strong suggestion for a campaign slogan, if you want to call it that. Florida, if you go R-N-G, my education dollars go B-Y-E.
