Jackpot Winner Anonymity poll...
I've always felt that I would remain anonymous because frankly it's dangerous to report that big of a win. In NC if you've ever bought anything such as property or cars then it is a matter of public records and you can access it online courtesy of your state government, so that means once your name goes in the papers or the on the news, you will be brough beaten to death because rest assured, they will be knocking down your door!! because they will know where you live.....Some states not all

Powerball lottery millionaire fields marriage, investment proposals
I find it interesting this guy had all these plans for a reality TV show, The Amazing Race, and a Metallica concert. I do remember when he won he wanted to remain anonymous. How do you go from wanting to remain anonymous to doing all this high profile stuff? Seems that he has come around to his senses. I think he could have been a train wreck waiting to happen if he would have stayed on the high profile route. Good to see he has toned it down a bit.

Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
You might want to check the PB web site. SC has a winner who remained Anonymous on June 26th of last year for $34+M. You are right, PA doesn't allow Anonymous but it does allow you to claim it as a trust/LLC or not stand in front of the press and play idiot. Much better than NY/NJ who make you go through the whole publicity thing - thereby making you a target for every nut in the world.Either way, get the lump-sum and move. Use the LLC to buy what you need and enjoy life. Who care what the annui

Can you "claim prize in trust" anywhere?
Or does it vary between states? A $106 Million jackpot from the Mega Millions was recently claimed in trust in Ohio. But the Idaho Powerball winner Brad Duke was not allowed to remain anonymous. You would think that someone as successful as him (I think that he owns a fitness company in Boise) who wanted to remain anonymous would have had a lawyer pick up the prize if it was possible. Lottery prizes can be claimed in trust in New Hampshire and Louisiana, because it has actually happened there

Giving away you lottery prize
I have contemplated this and have gone back in forth in my head. Sometimes I want to share the wealth with all my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) and other times I want to limit it to my immediate family (Mum, brother, sister, Grandma). Ideally, if I could remain an anonymous winner, I would setup a foundation to distribute charitable contributions so that my name is not attached to anything and I do not get any of the glory. Then I would have the foundation help my family and friends a

If you won a lottery jackpot..........
But in Ohio, there have been plenty of anonymous winners who have formed a trust to claim the prize.
