Most people join a pool because they don't want to spend a lot of money. The only guarantee you would have is the 2000 tickets you bought and if you won, you would have to split with everyone that claimed they bought tickets and if nobody wo

Did you ever wonder?
it's also fascinating to read that the lady (in the above article) said that she uses a combination of birth dates when picking her numbers in other words she varies her six number sets but chooses from a relatively small defined (pool) of numbers ...those are virtually the identical words of the woman who won the California lottery earlier this year. remember the woman who carried her lotto ticket around in her purse for the longest time without realizing it was a winner. i believe she used t

How much would you pay?
a 10 fold increase in the odds is not exactly a guaranteed hit... I did understand, I still wouldn't pay more than $1 because the ODDS ARE NOT A REDUCEABLE FRACTION... Unless said ACME system/pool covered ALL of the combos... you are still leaving MILLIONS of possibilities uncovered and now you ended up dragging alot more people into it...I STILL stand by my $1, and I wouldn't join a pool eitherbecause the odds are NOT reduceable. If you buy ONE ticket for the 3 digit game (odds 1:1000) you leave

Lottery Pools - Your Thoughts??
Playing in Lottery Pools should be like investing in a Mutual Fund. You should have it professional managed and people who are professional in selecting numbers.I would like to see some return on my investment. Granted your talking about gambling with much higher odds. The Lottery Pools should be limited to a certain number of people at a set number of playing dollars. The pool should inform you of what numbers that they are playing and a reason for playing them. Hey, it's your money don't you wa

N.Y.State lottery answer my question
It's great that NY gave an answer to this question, but I believe their answer is wrong.Lotteries take in cash, then after the draw they divide up the total cash received into a number of buckets. One bucket would be for the prize pool, one for administrative costs, one for paying the lottery agents, etc., etc. As Cash Only has pointed out several times, for New York, the total percentage allocated to the prize pool is 40% of gross receipts. Therefore, the actual jackpot prize is given a fixed

leaving work can be traumatic. hmm...let's ponder that.Get up in the morning and be to work by 8 or 9 A.M. and work for 8 hours every day or stay home and sit by the pool and collect all that interest.Get up in the morning and be to work by 8 or 9 A.M. and work for 8 hours every day or stay home and sit by the pool and collect all that interest.Get up in the morning and be to work by 8 or 9 A.M. and work for 8 hours every day or stay home and sit by the pool and collect all that interest.I opt

See the FAQ page at: http://www.michigan.gov/lottery/0,1607,7-110-1227-4235--F,00.htmlThe above page also contains links to the IRS forms required to claim pool wins larger than can be redeemed at a lottery retailer. The fact that the IRS has lottery pool forms and instructions for their completion implies that lottery pools are legal in all states that hold lotteries.Lottery pool

gmcroman,If you join a lottery pool at a website organized by somebody you don't know with a group of other somebodies that you don't know, what difference does it makes if it is legal or not? If in the future when you've won nothing and feel you have been cheated, who are you going to file a legal claim against, somebody you don't know? Getting in a lottery pool with people you know and can identify have legal risk if you don't have a written agreement and I doubt if anybody running a lotte
