My Approach to 6/49 - Too many filters?
Thanks, RJOh. I will try and explain the various filters I use in more detail.
Decade Pattern
This looks to see how many of the six numbers come from each decade: 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49. The last winning draw was 1, 8, 19, 26, 37, 44. This corresponds to the decade pattern 2-1-1-1-1-0.
Digit Pattern
This looks at the last digit for each of the six numbers to see if there are any repeats. The last winning draw was 1, 8, 19, 26, 37, 44. This corresponds to the digit

Do lottery software really works?
RJOh
The best has to be one that you wrote yourself. This way you can control how it picks the lines.
Some people have the idea that it does not make any difference how the numbers are selected,
because they all have the same odds of showing. QP's are, in my opinion the very worst way to
play and I know many will dissagree. What works for me may not work well for others and vice
versa. Having some fun playing is a must regardless of what one uses even if it's pen and paper.

Commonalities among PB winning combinations
RJOh
I found this question interesting because a while back I started looking only at the draws where someone
won a JP. I started with PB and then moved on to other games. What I found is that when a certain type
of set was drawn then it was very likely someone would hit. Many times I could just look at the set and do
a few counts and predict if someone won. I started doing this without thinking and most days I can not
only tell if the JP was won but I can often predict if more th

Help for my 6/49 game,from clever lottery post members
Thanks RJOh I see this is very good as wheels go, I calculate it to be 95.60% efficient really one of the better ones I have come across
Tight range with only 4 (number of times each number appears) which is a sign of a good balanced wheel
Range 17 to 21 repeats gives a range of 4
B1 = 19 B11 = 19 B21 = 20 B31 = 21 B41 = 21
B2 = 18 B12 = 20 B22 = 19 B32 = 21 B42 = 21
B3 = 18 B13 = 19 B23 = 20 B33 = 21 B43 = 21
B4 = 20 B14 = 18 B24 = 19 B34 = 21 B44 = 21
B5 = 18 B15

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
Let's apply the (C(P, M) * C(N P, D M)) / C(N, D) probability to the 5 / 39 lottery pointed out by RJOh.
We won't reduce the fraction to a decimal value, we'll just leave it as an integer fraction.
Running through the number by substitution, we can assign some of the variables: P = 5, N = 39, D = 5.
Next we can work the M variable for {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}, then see if the sum of the fractions (probabilities) equals 1.
M (C(P, M) * C(N P, D M)) / C(N, D)
0 278256 / 575757

I bought an entire book of $20 GA tickets - $3,000,000 Taxes Paid
RJOh,
I am glad I got that out of my system. I expect they have to sell a lot of losers to make a profit. They just sent me a bunch of coupons, but they are not much, most are buy 1 online game and get a QP free, or $1 off an instant ticket, limit 1. Really more of a tease than anything else, but maybe it gets the casual player to spend more, it just does not seem like too much of a temptation to me. I wish it were a percentage off instead, or buy 1 get 1 free instant ticket.
If I had just

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
Stack47,
You said, ...It proves wheeling a specific set of numbers give a player a slight advantage over playing a like number of QPs.
I'm afraid you really don't understand the meaning of the two ROI collumns and their subtotals below. Please take a closer look...
The numbers in the Expected collumns are calculated from the published probabilities for the game and the total tickets purchased.

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
I learned from my earliest postings at LP that a lot of people here mistrust Random Number Generators. Therefore, I avoided as much as possible using them while trying to make a point. I had hoped that by using the picks of the participants in MadDog's Challenges over a long enough period of time, [many of them chosen in a systematic way,] the results would finally convince [some] staunch believers in an advantage to system play that it really doesn't matter how they choose their numbers.

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
Stack47, RJOh,
You must think I am the only one who will notice that you are [not so] cleverly evading the questions posed above.
I think not.
You must also think your prior claims that you can beat the odds will be forgotten.
I think not.
I made the request, I'm sure I am not the only one who would be fascinated to read just how YOU would spend $3168 on one Powerball draw. Of course, I don't expect you to give up any trade secrets; just impress us by estimating how much better yo
