can someone please tell me how to run a lottery pool?
1: List pool members names 2: Create a *BLOCK* of ticket plays. Indicate which dates these are: Ours does a five week block, payable upfront. So at 2$ a play , a single player pays $20 upfront for that time period. 3: Clearly indicate cut off time and date for open players. 4: If its a closed group and someone opts to not be in that BLOCK of plays, have them sign a waiver to participate and have it witnessed. Mass. Lottery's new raffle game to offer $20M top prize
The Massachusetts State Lottery will unveil plans today for its most expensive game yet, a $20 raffle-style ( sweepstakes ) drawing. The new game comes as the Lottery looks to revive sales. After years of increases, the Lottery has recently seen its sales growth stall. The $20 sweepstakes ticket marks the Lottery's first venture into that higher-end price range. The new Star Spangled Sweepstakes contest will kick off May 1, with a July 4 drawing. Lottery officials pledge to create

Where do you guys come up with the 35% Federal Tax rate
I am under the impression that if somone won a large amount of money, the tax rate would be 25% - 28% for federal taxes. I am basing this info from the info from the irs website. Why does people on the board reference the rate at 35%? I am aware that they take 25% off the top but where does the additional 10% come from? This is my first post so I hope I didn't break any rules. From the IRS site 2. Sweepstakes, Wagering Pools, and Lotteries File Form W-2G for each person to

$340 MILLION: Biggest Mega Millions lottery jackpot ever
The $340 million jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions lottery drawing will be the largest since The Big Game became Mega Millions in May of 2002. If The Big Game's jackpots are included, the Tuesday Mega Millions jackpot is the second-largest ever to The Big Game's record of $363 Million, set in May of 2000. The only other lottery jackpots that are comparable to Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot are Powerball's $340 million jackpot on October 19, 2005 and the $365 million jackpot on February

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The $202M cash, $340M jackpot changes the rules, and my estimates will be crude and somewhat ad hoc. For what it's worth, here is what I see for the current drawing in terms of winner distribution: 046.54% 135.60% 213.61% 33.47% 40.66% 50.10% 60.01% Long term - and probably it won't go much further: Model Calculated Annuity PrizeModel Calculated Cash ValueSingle Draw Calculated Model Rollover ProbabilityOverall Calculated Model Rollover Proba

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
Here is a LIST of the reasons for the cool down : -There have been so many jackpots over 100 million. When 50 million was noteworthy it was because it was unusual. -There is an inflation effect. If you want to buy a house for cash you need to win about 1 million (advertised annuity) or more! -There are always stories (and TV series) about people who won big but were even more miserable after. -People are tired of buying loads of tickets and then having hardly any matching numbers le

How Comes
LP How Comes : 1. How come of all the number games forums the Pick 5 gets the least postings? In the grand scheme of every game beyond Pick 4 that's the one you're more likely to hit than a Pick 6 or a Pick 5 and Pick 1. A person may hit a Pick 5 and never hit a Pick 6.....but yet... 2. How come there's hardly any mention of numerology? There's plenty of posts about dream numbers, most of Mystical is people requesting dream interpretations., heck 99% of Mustical is people re
