Has anyone noticed the change?
thanks guys ;Arizona and math head, I now have a clearer view on how things are worked out. And yeah the negative interest rates comment was a little tongue in cheek. Im sure its not a place we want to go , negative rates.
I assume the %5 increase in annuity values is to defeat inflation. so we can assume the states %5 is the rate iof inflation, not the sub 2% the gov puts out.

How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
Yeah I saw the increase being so low, and can only think, too much was spent on chocolates, flowers and jewellery this week.
spoken like a single guy. it wil be good to see what it is that causes a spike, prob TV news stories. but $500M on the bill boards should be enough. i look forward to watching the rolls

To strategize or not to strategize? That is the question
I think the strategy is not to change the odds but increase the probability of matching a predicted pattern. The odds of what number pop up don't change but the probability of patterns I would think can be predicted based on the entropy of large numbers. Short run stats can have and will have permutations but the chances are that the draw will fit into a subset of predictable patterns with calculated odds for each pattern. For example looking at decades, even odd, consecutive etc. To tell me you

To strategize or not to strategize? That is the question
Don't form combinations in a mathematical sequence
So many people select their lottery numbers by choosing a small number and then selecting each subsequent number by adding the same value to it. For example, they start with a 04 and then add six to each number to get 04, 10, 16, 22, 28, 34 as their combination. Or they use squared numbers to come up with their combination - for example, 04, 09, 16, 25, 36, 49.
Don't do this.
Choosing numbers in this way won't increase your chances of

Florida 2015 [paneagle]
Monday FLORIDA fan5 RESULT was 35 8 21 23 25 CHOICE GROUPS provided 5 as 35 and 8 21 25 for four out of five winners with 23 as the missing. I had two tickets with 3 each for 20 bucks. I played 21 25 and 8 and also #5. On further review of data, I found to increase a certain column set which provided the stronger reference to 23 as well as 21/25. The Fibonacci was strong with 23-21 = 2 and 25-23 = 2 and 8-5 = 3 and 21-8 = 13 and 5 and 2 all fibo numbers (1-2-3-5-8-21) Monday is a very good night

How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
Too late Enigmas, MM has already changed the format of their game. What used to be around 175 mil to 1 odds is now 258,890,850 to 1 odds
I think that the jackpot doesn't increase as fast as Powerball since each MM game costs only $1 compared to PB's $2 price.

More state lotteries adding "win for life" games
come on todd. you know that this is not a good play. the states are joining because they are not paying out much on this game as they are taking in or are holding onto by paying slower rather than all at once. can't even compare this to powerball frenzy last week. my source of information is that i've checked for winners of this and they are far and few between. 5 out 48 and 1 out of 18 matrix quite the obstacle to cashing this. in all the lottery stores i go into the bet slips for this are larg

Mega Millions and Powerball both at/over $1 Billion. Your thoughts?
I don't see the point of having 2 games where one copy-cats the other all the time. If that's truly what's wanted, drop one and increase the remaining one to 3 or 4 draws a week.
But, I hope they leave MM alone.
