Question for New York Pick 3
HI Fairy: When New York started drawing twice a day I e-mailed them with the same question. This is the reply I recieved. And I quote Same style of machines, but not the same exact machine. The Lottery has 4 each of the NUMBERS machines and WIN 4 machines.Whatever machines are randomly selected for the Midday, they cannot be used for the evening drawing. This was sent to me by the New York Lottery Press Community Relations. Hope this helps.pegleg

Question for New York Pick 3
Thank you Alan. They do the same thing in Texas. They have the pretest drawings and it makes tracking even harder. I think they do it to throw off those who do track the numbers. There is no need for pretest drawing. If something would go wrong with the machine or something, then they could redo the drawing.

this is WHAT PENNSYLVANIA SHOULD TELL US
smd173: Since NY refuses to adopt the 60-day rule , I have never been 100% sure about whether the 60-day countdown starts with the day of (or day after the) drawing, or when the ticket is validated at a lottery retailer, or when the ticket is brought to the lottery HQ. It could very well be that different lotteries interpret the 60 days differently. Of course, the 1 year/6 month limit for collecting on a ticket starts with the drawing itself, correct?

Powerball $100 million Sat 9/14
VisiondudeHow are you these days? I see that you are looking at me right now with the eye at the bottom of your post. LOL.Just a quick question out of curiosity. When you play, do you recommend waiting for the jackpot to reach a certain amount and buying a LOT of tickets during that drawing to increase one's chances of winning or is it better to just buy a couple tickets each drawing, regardless of the jackpot????

Which is better ??
While on the topic about probability and chance, which of you guys buy a moderate number of tickets, and which of you wait until the jackpot gets larger to buy a large number of tickets. Do you prefer to buy $10 worth of tickets each drawing OR do you prefer to wait and buy $100 worth of tickets in a drawing after two months? After all, buying more tickets increase your chances of winning.

How much money is enough!?
I'm like megamillionaire ; I live in a non MM/but we got Powerball state and I play PB every drawing regardless of the jackpot because any jackpot is golden to me and then I travel the 2 hour roundtrip to OH to play MM when the jackpot there gets pretty big(like around 60ish million). For me it's not worth the trip if the MM jackpot is small. I've got mileage on my car, gas in the tank, turnpike tolls and money for the drawing to think about. Besides, there's always Powerball.

Michigan got a piece of the action in last nights drawing!!!
Its about time. We had 3 $175,000 winners second to only New York that had 4. Is Michigan back into it? :)

More versions of "Change Game" to come
The GA Change Game allows only THREE winners per drawing. Being able to buy a 25c ticket would be great for lottery players-but the novelty will wear off quickly (as it appears in GA in just its second week) if the game(s) is/are structured to provide very few winners. I would try a 3/99 quick-pick-only game where 2#s wins; any drawing not having a perfect match would roll the top prize money to all holders matching 2#.

PP3 Error Message (Trial Version)
I downloaded the PP3 trial version. However, when I try to install it I get a Corrupt Cabinet File error message. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Also, understand that the entire history for each pick 3 should be imported. The Virginia pick 3 evening drawing began approximately 1987, and the Virginia pick 3 mid-day drawing began a few years later. Is it really necessary to go that far back? Regards,Donny
